This is more of a "Whats Izo been up too recently?" kinda post... I'll see what I come up with, anyway.
A month ago I put in an Application to Veto. This was while I was still with ASCN, and as nothing came of it, or so I thought, I began Malum Vir. 2 weeks ago, I got accepted, and I took the opportunity, because its not often you get that kind of chance. (Pliskkenn, my co-director of -M.V-, was fine with it) So off I went.
Flying under the Veto tag brought a huge smile to my face, it still does, and for the first 24 hours I didnt do much...
Wednesday, July 19th.
Late night.

Obviously what results is a complete gank. Big deal, I'm not proud of that. But Thut checked the can and found 800mil in loot. I wont mention what, because it doesnt matter. Needless to say, he was laughing his ass off over Vent, and we struggled to get him to tell us what he'd found until a few minutes later. 48hours in Veto, makin' money and having fun with some of the best guys I know.
That done, and no smack from the pilot, who will also remain nameless, we're chatting away and heading through systems trying to find something to kill or ransom that isnt some noob in a damned shuttle. Metropolis is dead.
Its around midnight EVE time, which is 1am for me, and I dont remember so well who reported it, it mostly seems a blur to me, I think it was Bosie... or ADR1AN... But anyway. Most of us are flagged, and in a system behind them, waiting on the timer. We hear "Oh my fuckin god, theres a Cyno!!!" and we all start flapping between running and staying... Who knows what could be coming through... Somehow, we all jus went for it, charging through the sentries and jumping, and warping to the Cyno, which was next to a stargate.
We caught a Phoenix class Dreadnaught, and we pound on it. Funnily, ADR1AN was in an inty, and still managed to get on the killmail - the Dread locked and fired at him XD.

By the time we'd stopped shitting ourselves that we'd just popped a Dreadnaught under sentry fire in low sec completely randomly, MellaRinn and I were at the same gate, still, while others were around the system ridding of their flags after shooting something. This was around 45minutes after the Dreadnaught. The stargate activates, and as I've been aligning for another gate, I'm nearly 40km from the gate in a Blasterthron. Yeah, sexy. In jumps a Typhoon, then a Megathron, and we call over Vent for a little help. Hostile Raven and Prophecy jumps in too, and we engage. MellaRinn is called primary as I'm MWD'ing into range, and Mella valiantly pretty much takes the Typhoon solo, under fire, as i get in range at around 30-40% armor left in the Phoon.
By the time the Phoon popped, we had most the lads back at the gate, and we took out a partly faction fitted Megathron. The Raven and Prophecy warped out before we could tackle them. We only suffered one casualty, Mella's Dominix, which wasnt a huge loss considering the amount of damage in ISK we had caused.
I went to bed at 3am, with a huge smile on my face.
Fast forwarding, I've had 2 of the best weeks of Piracy in my EVE career, I've learnt alot already, and I've become part of the family that is Veto. I hadnt lost one ship in a month, till Saturday and yesterday... Yeah cya 3 Ishkurs. Otherwise, its been fucking fantastic, and I would encourage anyone to make something of Piracy because it can be done. Its moments like the above that make EVE worth playing.

To save Ander having to make several "Izo" posts on the front page, and simply because I like making people read pages of crap, I'm editin' this one.
So all of last week was pretty hell. I've managed to lose 4 Ishkurs and a Brutix, which was very silly indeed. Theres some good Arbi pilots out there it seems, and Brutix's dont like bumping into stations under sentry fire. Yes, costly.
But lets not talk about the bad, because last night Veto were out again. We'd had a crap night, and infact, I was the only one with a kill, a bloody Itty III trying to dock... Great. So our scout at the time jumped into the system ahead and claims theres a Thanatos (Big green drone/fighter spawning Carrier of death, for those that dont know.) and... its in a belt.
Good god. Thanatos pilot NPC'ing in a 0.2 belt. Right, whatever, wtf. After a bit of a "Wtf do we go for it?" we get gang warped to the belt. Its 50km off us all, so we all punch the MWD (Even the Domi's! o.O) and go for the tackle... and we get it. Holy crap, we've now tackled a Carrier with around 5 battleships and an Ishkur. The carrier pilot must have been a nubbin, because when he did eventually release his fighter drones, and Mao - who got the brunt of it - warped out, only to engage them on me, (10000 damage on me in the time it took to warp, according to logs) By the time I got back, he'd recalled his fighters.
Why? I might never know. What I do know is that he rejected the offer of a ransom, and after a long fight, and breaking a great tank, we went in a very small explosion compared to the Dreadnaught. (Pictures of both can be found at Veto. in the public general discussion.) we made around 250mil in loot. More importantly, Veto had downed her second capital ship in 3 weeks. A great achievement.

yes i didnt use fighters at first, reason being you fly away they follow leaving me defenceless and it was first pvp in carrier so maybe tried wrong thing.
And as for randsome i didnt have it and would have cost about same without benefit of a good fight.

As for ransom you find that capital ship pilots especially those like this pilot where the carrier has been entirely self-financed, tend to be stoney broke. Fighters aint cheap you know
I do congratulate Veto. on their kill definately must have been a night to remember for you guys.
My issue is the lack of respect you give a valiant opponent who gave you the benefit of a hell of a fight and a hell of a story to tell.
This pilot has also shown a great deal more grace and spirit than I would do considering the magnitude of his loss not only of his ship but his pod and implants.
Well I've said my piece.
Hope I will not embarrass him too much by writing this and if I have I apologise to him.

And in my defence? A carrier pilot wouldnt have been in the belt, in a 0.2, seemingly ratting on low sec rats... and would have left far before Local spiked.
I appriciate the comments, but if hes going to defend himself, let him do it. He seemed to enjoy it, anyway, so did we.
