Painful loss somewhat compensated by a good kill

The other day a few corp mates and I decided to go to Haine and cause some trouble for the lame Haine Alliance. A supposed group of people who want to make Hain "safe". We were having fun getting these guys to flag themselves in attempts to kill us. They made a few attempts on my baby sacrilege and I managed to kill one of them in the process. But low and behold, disaster lay on the horizon. My internet dies and when I am able to log back on I find that somehow I am in a pod?

The members of Misphits apparently found me and ganked my sacrilege during the short time my net died. In my opinion they deserve absolutely no credit for this as they couldn't gank me while I was in control of my character but hey, he crashed!, Gank!...

Sadly GM retrofire feels I do not deserve my ship back even though I had no control over the loss. Many other times GM's have quickly refunded similar losses but apparently retrofire decided to make it a pain.

Deeply depressed I tromp back home in my egg to purchase another sacrilege. I looove that ship :).

A few days later after having refit my new baby I am called on to help a corp member out of a station being camped by a megathron and raven of a hostile pirate corporation known as Goodfellas. I leave my mission and slap a scram on just in case they try anything stupid. I arrive at the station and not long thereafter the raven decides to lock me, at this point my computer decides to lag out and does not regain conciousness until after the raven is gone but my corpmate got away safely. Turns out the raven fired upon me but got out, too bad :-\.

I decide to hang around a bit longer and the mega comes out after me. I lock him and wait for him to make a fatal decision. Sure enough mr. megathron decides to have a go at me. I scram and web him right away and open up all guns blazing and missiles flying. His drones started to give me a run for my money until they were obliterated by the sentries and I was then able to easily tank the lone megathron and destroy him. Sadly the sentries stole the killmail from me but I did loot an estimated 40 million isk in modules from his deathcan.

A devestating loss followed by a nice gank has helped me recoup.

I guess said megathron will understand that the dark maller is the mean one! Arrrr
