Just a quick comment for tonight before I go to bed. More of a thing I am pondering than anything.
Why as a carebear and or macrominer would you waste so much money on Eve just to build ISK which all you do is buy more miners with to build ISK to buy more etc.
What is the attraction? If I wanted something like that I would play Monopoly. What is fun about numbing your mind out doin this crap day after day after day. Perhaps I am missing something, but in my carebear days my goal was to outfit awesome ships with all sorts of cool gadgets to go lay waste to all the pre schools in Empire.
Perhaps it is beyond my savage barbarian brain, but is Eve really worth the money you pump into it month after month for a mining simulator? To go look at how your orders are doing that particular day? Hell, if you even have one alt that is 30 bucks a month. So 30 bucks a month at least to sit around and diddle with your cock while your ISK grows? Yay fun?
Seriously, I don't see the fascination. Perhaps one of you people in the comments could enlighten me.

Some "carebearism" is needed in the game.. how else would we get our tools for destruction?
sell on ebay?
For a very long time, I found it highly enjoyable playing the market. It's a game in and of itself. I had entire schemes, several of which led me to just outside of 0.0 space in order to sell my goods.
Granted, mining is still boring as hell, but it's not so bad if you've got a friend to pass the time with. That said, the less mining I do, like, ever again, the better.
If you can set up shop in a mission station that's reasonably trafficked, you can make a tremendous amount of money selling ammo, guns, components, and ships, since most mission runners don't want to go that far.
It's a fun part of Eve, but only if you've got the mindset for it.
well, _i_ don't see the point for gatecamping in 0.4 and shooting (nearly) everybody on sight without asking for ransom. but i _know_ some guys may call this "fun". thats the point about eve: everybody can do what he/she wants.. you can play monopoly or the big bad guy killing everybody. or something between this two extremes. i see it similar to you (doing the "big money stuff" just to get money for better equipment) but it's the fascination of eve you can do what you want.
btw: first time visit here. nice page, bookmakred the rss-feed. :)
