The Break Must End

I took a short break from EVE-Online to keep the experience fresh, and the tedious feeling that tends to grow from games at bay. I've yet to check if I've succeeded, but it's time for this little pirate to get back into the game, methinks.

I spent a few highly irritating days out and about.

First, it's anti-pirates. I lost two ships (not counting a few shuttles) and a pod or two to anti-pirates, sitting at a station for hours waiting for the station camp to end. Nothing destroys a game for you like having to wait and then break the hell out of the station. I had spent two hours getting a setup for my Caracal together, and the station was my final stop to snap on a fancy new afterburner. This ship was my key to PvEing my way to a non-outlaw sec status.

I undocked and and was nearly instantly shredded, and then lost yet another Caracal to the same anti-pirates while on the run. They blasted my pod and I quickly bought a shuttle and undocked, and the same person who had just podded me was staring at my shuttle. I had to clone hop and then fly my pod through a few .5 systems and two .4-.3 systems.

I finally bought yet another Caracal , not expecting to run into any trouble out in the middle of nowhere. The first asteroid field I enter with my PvE-outfitted Caracal was my death. A good four Sniggerdly pirates warped into the system and were instantly upon me. They destroyed my Caracal even though I asked several times for an ransom (I'm estimating the worth at 20m) and asked for a 20m bounty for my pod. I laughed my ass off.

My pod was worth 2m, and they didn't see it fit (nor did I) to actually ransom it. I lost that and nearly ripped my hair out, deciding to take a break from EVE.

I find it amusing that I spent much more time finding components and getting them then actually flying my Caracals... oh well, in three Caracals I did get a .1 sec status reduction or so.
