Back With A Bang

Iam back after a 3 month lay off due to computer troubles and real life. So...

Hopped into my Ares Interceptor to go pick up a skill, though it was combat ready incase I needed it, well I did. I passed through a 0.4 system called Vifrevaert and I see one pilot in local. I decided it was worth scannning around to see what the pilot was flying.

To my surprise and sheer delight, he was in a Covetor Mining Barge. About 5mins passed, I was having trouble locating him due to the current computer iam using being slow as hell. Eventually, I picked him up in one of the belts, he was still there and hadnt safe spotted.

BIG mistake. I warp in, hit the MWD and speed toward him and orbit at 5,000m. I hit the scramblers and I have him trapped. However, I have been away from Eve a while and was a bit rusty. My ceptor moved out of effective scram range (7,500m) so I had to quickly re-adjust orbit and avoid the roids he was mining.

Still nothing from him, his mining lasers going full blast. He must not be paying attention. So advantage me. I have my orbit and scram locked in proply now. I type in local "10 Mill or be destroyed".

That got his attention...or at least his Hammerhead Drones attention. 8 Hammerheads come flying toward me and start eating my shields. So I open fire with my missiles and railguns. The Sabretooths rip into his shields and tear them apart, however my shields are failing too. The anti-matter charges are doing a good job to his armor, I quickly swap Sabretooth Missiles for Bloodclaws and continue. His drones are getting some hits in, iam still moving fast enough to survive though.

I watch as my armor becomes dangerously low, then into structure I go, the Covetor however is already into structure and getting lower and lower with every hit. Then, finally, the last 2 missiles strike his hull and BOOM, his ship is destroyed.

His pod warps off and then he logs out. I pick up whats left of his loot, 8 Hammerhead Drones, left the basic expander behind. My Ares is in flames, 75% Structure left and 3% Armor.

I wait around for the flag to wear off when one of his friends turns up in a Maller. I decide to call for back-up since iam badly damaged. A corp mate (Tanthius) turns up in his Apoc and ganks the Maller and his pod, also gets the returning pod from my victim.

How Ive missed Eve and the pirating ways.
