A few months ago we raided an off-lined POS. For those of you new people who dont know a thing about "POS" also known as Player Owned Station are deployable mining bases which extracts stuff from Moons. Stuff carebears like. Heck, I'm a pirate. That's as far into mining I want to delve into.
The thing I care about regarding POS's are that they are usually heavily defended. A strong shield surrounding the good-stuff and big turrets shooting at anything which approaches. Unless... the control tower is offline. This happends when the carebears haulers get shot down by us pirates. Or they simply want to give us free goodies.
Finding an offline POS can be a goldmine. Especially if others hasnt found it before you.
The turrets got very expensive ammo and the mining rigs usually leave that expensive stuff carebears want. The POS we found a few months ago had loads of this stuff, we looted it clean and destroyed every bit of dangerous space-junk... Heh, I'd bet the carebears were pissed off when they returned to see that the POS they had forgotten to fuel was mostly debris.
I thought we'd get to do some space-cleanin' today. However, others had already beat us to the pulp. Hopefully one day the towers will be scoopable if they are left alone for too long. Until then, I'll just kindly ask carebears to hand me the isk on their own free will.
