Guest-story by Narciss (Snigg): 3 dreadnaughts killed

Friday night we were heading down to amamake through the low sec chain killing what we came across. A covert ops a couple jumps came to lermireve and told us of 3 dreads in the system, now this got our attention. Can you think of more fun at the moment than killing 3 dreads, me either. So our covert ops got to working out what was going on. After a few minutes of poking his nose around he managed to work out it was Vogon deconstruction fleet with a few other allies attacking some pos’. Apparently they had been there all day attacking various pos’ and putting them into reinforced mode, we arrived a little to late and they were just finishing up putting the last into reinforced mode. So we jot down the times they will come out of reinforced mode and head on our way and do some usual killing.

Saturday comes around and we have the times the pos’, we all meet up a few hours before the large one comes out of reinforced mode and start setting up to take out 3 dreads plus support. During the day due to a forum post we also learned whose pos’ they were. Turned out they were ginger magicians, so after contacting him and telling him of our plans he sets us to positive standings so the pos didn’t shoot at us. So with everything set we headed down 15 minutes before the pos’ came out of reinforced mode.

During the way down there was only the moros there plus around 6 BS support, but as the large pos comes out of reinforced mode the revelation and phoenix log in and warp into the pos. Every thing is set and we jump the last 2 jumps while our covert ops gets us a warp in point on top of the dreads.

We come out perfectly on top of the dreads with the BS support pretty close too. All 3 dreads were in siege mode and couldn’t be jammed, but this wasn’t really a bad thing as we knew as long as we kept moving and kept transversal up the dreads wouldn’t be able to hit us too bad. Our BS go to work straight away on the support dropping 2 ravens very quickly before the rest warp out. The support start popping all the enemy dreads drones. We start working on the phoenix and a Dominix warps valiantly in to try and save the dreads, valiantly but foolish as we quickly switch primary and the Dominix melts, but not before it helps the Moros pop one of our Megathrons. We are only 5 minutes into the fight.

Switching back to the phoenix we carry on pounding that monster, but it has an insane shield tank. We slowly work on its tank throwing everything we have at it, while remote armor repping each other. During this time various BS warp in at long range to try and snipe us, but we negate them with our EW. After what seemed ages but turned out to be only 3 minutes of constantly fire the monster of a phoenix goes down. Things are looking good, for a while there some of us didn’t think he was ever gong to die.

1 Dread down

Shamis then calls the Moros primary, which had been taking fire from the pos’ guns this whole time. All ready in armor but doing massive armor reps with its capital armor repper. It starts to drop with the reppers not able to keep up with the damage this sniggles fleet was inflicting on its hull, twice pulling back massive chunks of armor while in structure. But the time comes and the Moros goes extinct just like the Phoenix.

2 Dreads down

Only 2 minutes had passed in the death of the Moros. We all switch on the now doomed Revelation, he’s just seen his 2 friends go down in flames, he knows it, we know it. But it wasn’t going to be easy, especially with the Vogon BS still warping in and out at long range. With everything starting on the revelation, including the pos guns at once I felt for sure that this was going to be the quickest kill of the 3. But no the tank on this is another monster and it lasts a full 4 minutes of death and destruction thrown at it. With Rasta Rocketman even out damaging the pos! Just as the Revelation pops our interceptors catch one of the BS warping and out and we pop the Apoc in seconds.
