And so it begins; my life in eve and I have to decide my path... mining? ratting? production? nah... Piracy! I love playing the bad guys.
But I know nothing about Eve PVP, so my adventure begins not in game, but in the forums, searching for all the information I can... Then back to the game, where my character is born and the skill training begins (helped along by a donation from a noob corp member).
Day 3; I feel I am ready for my first attempt and I begin looking for a target, warping through nearby 0.4 systems, watching local and scanning, an hour goes by and I eventually spot someone mining alone, in a retriever... hmm, he's 6 months old, but it’s a barge and they don’t have guns... ATTACK!
Warping in, I hit the afterburner, and with my heart pounding I swoop in close for a tight orbit and open up with my pulse lasers, while engaging my scrambler and NOS. with no real reaction from my pray. his shield starts to disintegrate and then its gone and onto his armour I go. "Yes! I can do this" I think to myself, but my joy quickly turns to despair as his drones launch and I see my shield fairly rapidly die and his armour is barely taking damage... But that’s ok, I know my armour is tanked, surely it can hold up, I fire up my armour repairer, but it barely makes any difference as my armour is torn apart, I align for warp... "BOOM" and I'm a little egg. Lesson learned... drones hurt and my tank is useless.
Day 5; I've improved my armour related skills, bought a new punisher, with a named armour repairer this time instead of T1 and improved my capacitor and gunnery skills a little and its time to try again. This time my target is another punisher ratting in a belt, not what my setup is designed for as I'm using a variation of Malka's Bleeder that I've adapted for a noob with no skills or money, but to hell with it I'm killing this guy.
So I begin as before, warp in close, heart pounding, fire up the afterburner, orbit at 2k, activate my scrambler and NOS and fire the lasers. Orbiting each other our shields both fail and onto armour we go, both tanking each others damage we dance in our deadly embrace. With his tank showing no signs of failing and my capacitor beginning to fail me, I withdraw from battle, avoiding another ship loss but taking the bitter taste of defeat with me.
Lesson learned... I need better cap skills.
Day 8; With my capacitor skills improved, and frigate up to 4 its time to try again. This time I find a lone Moa collecting up loot, but he is 40k from where I warped in... Too far I feel, so I warp off and return from a different angle, guessing a distance of 40k from the belt, and yes! I'm right on top of him. Lock on... AB, Scramble, NOS, Lasers firing, 2k orbit, he returns fire instantly, but his rails hit nothing but space, his heavy missiles pound into my ship, slowly tearing down my shield, as I pick away at his, the he's onto my armour, but my tank holds the missiles damage with ease, and his rails continue to miss. His shield fails, and his armour falls much more quickly, but my cap is low... I take the afterburner off, and repair only in bursts now, and his rails still miss, then before I know it his armour is gone... cease fire, start a convo ready to ransom... oh wait, he just logged off... ah well... FIRE!!! BOOM!!!! My first kill and enough loot to buy and fully equip two more punishers.
Now to find the next victim...

nice work for an 8 day old character. When the target is so far off and there's a close by can, i right click the can and make a temp bookmark and then warp back to that bookmark and hey presto..... your within an arms reach of your next victim.
thanks for the tips, I'll be sure to remember that :)
Moa is still my best solo kill, though I have had a few others with better loot. still noone has paid a ransom though, usually just block me.
I've since joined up with sanguine legion, but I'm tempted to leave again as they are a little too indiscriminate in their kills for my taste, plus certain members have smacktalked, and I dont want to get a reputation for that by association.
First, congratulations on the kills, especially for a new player. When I started PvPing I thought taking down a cruiser in a frigate would be an impossible task but thesedays players seem to excel old standards daily. Nice work.
Secondly, I find being in a good corporation makes a big difference to peoples opinions of you. I know since I've been in Sniggerdly I've drawn a lot more anti-pirate attention but I've also had a higher rate of accepted ransoms.
Nice job m8. I recently went through the same sort of experience, but I did not start with a cruiser! I bet that was a great feeling =)
Brilliant stuff my man, hope to hear more from ye. Very impressive for a character just over a week old, I'm expecting great things.
Sorry to hear that some of us have smacked. I think you'll fingd FUQU is pretty strict on that but you'll always get dicks.
And yeah we are indiscriminate in targets but then we are Blood Raiders in our 'light' RP style.
Hope to seeya in gang.
