I had just undocked and noticed a guy calling out in system, "Wow hauler NPC's in belt V-1!". I suspected it was a trap but I still wanted to try out my new megathron setup with t2 blasters.
So I decided to jump in when the message for "Cluster shutting down in 15 minutes" came up.
He was gone.
I quickly started scanning the system for him and noticed that he was at a stargate.
Pondering for a while I made up my mind. Maybe I could get him to agress me, it'd be worth a shot.
Leaving warp I barely spotted him before he jumped into the neighbour system. I hit my MWD and went after him. I knew it was a drain on my capacitor power but he might warp away before I could see where he went to.
Quickly jumping through to the other side I saw that he was waiting. Infact, he was heading back to the gate to return to the system we came from.
I eagerly wanted a fight, so I locked him and as he returned the lock he started nossing me. He was the one agressing so I wouldnt have to worry about the sentry-guns.
"Shit" I thought to myself. He's setup for real battle.
He had a full rack of e500's on high and a drone link augementor. I activated my own blasters and his shields was gone within seconds, but his tank was still going strong.. too strong. I'm done for I thought as my own power was quickly dropping. Turning on my own two meager nosses and my heavy cap booster I decided that I could just aswell go down with a good fight.
Dropping my 5 drones into space, I ordering them to go after him. He had plenty more drones and they were eating my shields. I'd soon be done for unless maybe I could get some more cap to keep my armortank going for long enough to start overcoming his own armortank.
I knew he'd have enough cap to keep repairing, but maybe I might just pull through. Injecting more energy into my capacitor with my heavy capacitor boosting system I was back in the fight. Now able to sustain my own tank for a while longer I saw a glimmer of hope.
Still getting eaten by his drones while his energy-drains sucked my own power to use against me I knew this was a fight against the clock.
I had a few more capacitor booster charges left and that's when I noticed that the battle had turned. I was doing more damage than his two large repairers could keep up with.
Worrying that backup of his would arrive soon I watched as my own blasters slowly tore through his armor.
Yes! Once his armor was gone it was just a matter of seconds as my blasters blew through his hul leaving him inside a pod.
With no capacitor boost charges left and almost out of cap I had won the battle.

I am not a pirate or affiliated with any pirate corporations - in fact 3/4 of my kills have been by sniggerdly.
That doesn't change my high opinion of this site, which has very useful war stories and ship fitting ideas for new players such as myself.
What really makes the site for me is the very low level of smack talk or childishness which is so common in online games. If you read the archives, there are posts by people who try and fail in pirating attempts, and the authors are upfront about it. And there is only one article I remember from a long time back in which someone smack talked regarding their victem escaping due to multiple warp stabilizers, and the poster was really taken to task in the comment section.
Finally, they post fun stories, like the one above, which captures the risk and excitment in pvp. There aren't many stories of (for exmaple) sniggerdly's gate camping events, because a play-by-play would be boring. In many other games, such hugely stacked odds would result in prominent pre-teen bragging and smack talk (*cough* warcraft), so give these pirates and this site some credit.
Keep up the good stories and don't nerf my warp stabs

ive yet to submit my story about how I took out two dreds and a titan with my impairor though, my civilian gattling gun ripping through their armour etc, ill save that for another day ;)

I have one thing to say. F_U_C_K you pirates. As for character names, there in mine now come find me you jag-offs. No one wins all the time and watching a pirate sit a gate for over an hour sitting in a gankathron and destroy only those smaller ships that aren't -10, yeah real challenge there peeps. God forbid anyone start actually fighting back and WINNING then yo can watch four other -10 pirates come to the rescue and don't even think it stops there, SHOULD YOU even manage to ECM those a_s_s_holes another group of pirates jumps in. Enough said, stay cloaked and just leave. Low Sec is for trolls who bottom feed, if you f_ktards had any true brains you would be sitting on a +5 or higher standing, but hey any kindergardner can get a -10 and not give a crap. So yeah, there is my cahracter name, it's my priem so come find me, oh I forgot, those -10 standings kinda keep you out of .4 or higher don't they.
One day Eve will change the game so that you neg standing blockheads get your due when you enter anything higher than .4, trust me its comming.
