LS double-checked the scanner readings to make sure she really saw a lone Iteron V in that belt. 5 degrees... check! She hit warp.
"Would I finally be able to pin down the target and make some money off of it?"
Her ship started shaking and woke her up out of her contemplations. She didn't even want to check the scanner and just waited out the seconds before it would exit warp into the asteroid belt.
The industrial was 23 kilometers away from her warp-in point. She turned on the ship's afterburner and approached the target at full speed.
No reaction from the target as she got close to 10 kilometers and started targetting. Target locked, scrambled and in no time her gunfire was draining its shields and armour. The hard part was done now.
At 25% armour she tried opening a conversation with the victim to negotiate a ransom.
Fifteen seconds went by without an answer...
"That's just too bad then", she thought, "can't afford to be a nice guy in this business" and she proceeded to destroy the industrial.
The pilot was apparently awake since the pod warped away instantly. "The silent type, eh?" she thought, "oh well...".
Three jumps out she noticed a flashing tab besides newbie channel and corp tabs that were minimized in her HUD.
