Carrier Destroyed in Mara

Early Sunday morning, I was executing my routine patrol operation, quickly jumping into the next door system known as Mara. Mara is a commonly deserted system consisting of no stations and four stargates. Immediately the size of local led me to believe something was going down, so I checked scan and marked the positions of a Chimera, Scorpion, Dominix, Armageddon, Scimitar. Their positions were directly in the area of the Piekura gate so I warped immediately in my tempest onto a bookmark located 200KM off the Piekura and spotted their unusual camp. Surprised that someone was actually operating in Mara besides ourselves, I immediately contacted my corporation and communicated the information to them via the Corporation comm-link.

I observe the camp and note the facts that the carrier is boosting the shields of the dominix and the scorpion, while the armageddon sat 150KM off the gate, boosted by a Scimitar. Immediately we moved a covert ops on the position of their armageddon sniper and scimitar while we formed in Passari. The pieces were set and the game was on as we immediately jumped into Mara and warped on top of the armageddon and scimitar locking down both ships and immediately killed them as their friends stared 150KM below us. So me and Blind man moved back to Passari to change into our tempests once again to pick off the remaining camping ships as Gordan prepared to warp in and tackle. Primary target was the dominx, we laid down heavy fire disintigrating the shields and armor of the dominix before it jumped into Piekura(0.5) and proceeded to die to concord, whilst flagged. Gordan warped in and scrambled the scorpion pilot as our three Tempests fitted with 1400mm T2 Artillery cannons ripped through the defenses of the scorpion rendering it to its previous pod-form.

All that was left was a Carrier full of fighter-type drones and our small gang of battleships, Gordan proceed to go into close combat locking down the large carrier as he tanked the staggering amount of fighters we proceed to shoot off. I switched ships from my tempest to a my dominix and returned to drain the capacitor of the carrier who was slowly tanking our fire with is shield tank. He sent his last wave of fighters mixed in with medium t2 drones on me, all of which were immediately exploded to concentrated fire of the sentries and my wave of T2 Ogres. The battle longed on as the carrier pilot made pleads in local for a ransom and we kept pressuring fire on him as each corp member logged on. Finally, a small allied fleet of three battleships and cruisers arrived unexpectantly and provided aid as the concentrated fire slowly broke his tank and immediately sliced through his thin armor and hull, his corp members returned in a rupture and caracal and proceeded to attempt to jam us so the carrier pilot could escape but his demise was immiment and he died.

The day was ours as we returned valiantly from a sucessful operation and proceeded to kill our first carrier as a corporation, as well as his three battleship, logistic ship, and two cruiser escorts. Unfortunately the carrier did not drop much at all, two Dread Guristas Inv. Field and two Gist X-Type Shield Amplifiers were destroyed in the destruction of the carrier.
