The mind of an isk-seller - common among them all?

Ander·
A couple of months ago I used to run a google adword box on this site which would display different ads of interest for the eve-pirate.com visitors. A lot of the times isk-sales ads would show up and I'd manually have to block their sites from being displayed among the rotation. One of the sites which I blocked also tried to post isk-sale ads on the eve-pirate.com forums with links to where you can buy the isk. I had the pleasure of talking to this guy over email and some of their methods on how to gather is scares me. What they do is that they forge credit cards and use it to buy timecodes which they sell for isk at low-cost. Later they sell that isk at higher cost on ebay and other sites. Another known method is simply to farm isk by multiple accounts this time also using stolen credit-cards. This guy I spoke to was involved in multiple games and was making a good deal of $$$ from selling gold in wow, isk in eve and credits in AO and other currencies in many other games. His english was rather crude but I explained to him that he should stop posting isk ads on my forums and that I had blocked his google ad from my page. He continued by asking me to publish banners on my site and even telling me I could have some isk for the banner. I declined his request. Later he told me he could pay money or give me credit-card numbers for a banner-spot on my site. This too, I declined. A week passes and I hear nothing more when my phone calls, it's a guy speaking bad english with an accent sounding baltic or russian. He explains to me that he is going to sue me for removing his ads from google. Appearently he thinks I got google to remove his ads from rotation. For some reason he had been removed entirely by google-ads as they had gotten complaints about other illegal stuff he had been doing. I explain to him I had nothing to do with that, and he continues and starts sounding agressive. Soon he was threating me by phone and telling me he was only one boat-trip over the baltic sea to give me a visit in Stockholm. I told him to piss off and I hung up the phone. The next day my inbox was swamped with emails from him. 10.01: "I will sue you!" 11.32: "Why you break my google?" as to say.. this kind of mail conversation was very annoying and soon I blacklisted his email-address from my server and his IP. A couple of days later I remove the ip-block and I hear nothing more from him for several months. But if one of these isk-sellers act this way, I do not doubt that there are plenty more with the same kind of attitude and illegal methods selling isk for $. My advise to you, dont ever buy ISK and support these fellows. Petty criminals with bad accent and rather crude vocabulary who will do anything to steal your credit-card numbers. Oh, and to you "Mr GOLD-ISK-CREDIT-seller": Dont even bother coming here. I know where YOU live, and I will not hesitate to post your address on every forum related to EVE-online and the other MMORPG games which I play if you threat me again IRL. Have a nice day :)

I never knew that is how that business is run. I am not going to lie, I bought isk when I first joined the game because I thought that was the only way to get ahead. I, however, have changed my ways and I mission whored for my isk. 2 months later, a 9.47 Caldari Rating, countless good drops and a billion isk later, I feel good that I earned my isk. Now I can pirate freely and not have to worry about being low on isk. Thanks for enlightening me on how that business works. I will let me in-game friends how it really works.

"Why you break my google?" ;p

doesn't surprise me one bit that this game has credit card fraudsters too.
Though if they are using the same credit card stealing method that i've heard of before, CCP is screwed out of the money and not the credit card companies. :(

of course there are probably some people that sell GTC for isk legitimately, but the market value of the things is probably lowered because *some* people do not pay full market price on the things.

in any case, what they are doing is plainly illegal in any country and you ought to report it.

Sorry but a legit selling and transfer company isnt like the broke moronic foreigner you encountered. Ive dealt with gold/item/credit agencies before and they are 100% fullproof in their methods of delivery. Never, in 6 years of MMO gaming across 3 different games, have i ever had my account compromised or hacked because of dealing with gold farmers.

Your experience isnt the face of currency sellers, its just one person. Some people may have high morals (in a video game lol) and not want to spend real money on credits/isk/gold/items but others prefer that method due to not have the time to play enough to make that kind of money.

Dont assume all selling companies are like that, because they are companies...this man is an individual and in no way does he reflect the face of the currency selling community.

Everyone has to make a living, just because this individual decides to make it by stealing doesnt mean others who do this are doing it illegally. Its a general load of crap developed by people such as CCP in order to try to monopolize currency margines/profit in their favor. Thats the only reason, they dont care about you, only money.
