So there i am two days after creating my own pirate corp, flying around looking for kills in my rupture. The only other person in my corp,a rookie pilot that i had managed to recruit had logged already. So it was just me going solo, things were pretty slow,1 destroyer kill and one stabbed omen.So after passing threw another fruitless system i decide to jump into the next. But just as I'm about to jump i get a convo,i turn of autopilot and accept. Its a pilot from the system,he's asking for a duel because he said he almost had back when i was in a planet. At this point I'm thinking wha?
Through out the hole time i was in the system i was scanning so i think hes bluffing and just wants to try his and at me.So i agree but only under two certain rules.
1.Cruisers
2.No ECM
He was reluctant to agree to the ECM but at the end we agreed. So I warp to the planet i had designated as our dueling area.So I'm the first one to arrive,i wait a while and he still hasn't arrived. It is a big system i think to myself and decide not to ask him whats taking him so long to arrive.
All of a sudden ship appears with out a warp animation.Lag i think to myself, doesn't matter time to engage.I deploy my drones and turn on my guns, also making sure to keep him web and in range of my guns.At first sight i though it was the t1 amarr cruiser the arbitrator. So the fight starts things are going my way he hasn't even sent his drones out to me yet and his shield is almost gone.
Then all of a sudden his lock finishes and 3 deadly NOS start sucking at my rupture. At first i pay no mind and think the fight will shortly be over as i start to eat away at his armor.I take another look at my cap,its less the 20%.Another suck and its totally gone.My mind quickly jumps to my web and being able to keep within range.I can no longer run anything except for my guns and missiles.Thankfully i have a totally passive tank that is very strong.Even so my tank is slowly starting to die.The fight continues he has almost no armor left and for some reason has not left the 6km range. As i start coming down to 20% armor. Then it happens my final volley to his structure sends his ship up in a blue flame.
He opens a channel with me and we both say good fight. After talking about the battle for a minute or two i check the eve-mail from concord. It turns out this was no arbitrator but in fact a pilgrim.Fitted to the teeth with t2 drones and some named mods.I can hardly believe it,i even do a check on the market to make sure. Then comes the loot probably the best part,it all amounts to about 75m if not more. And with the other two nights me pulling in near 40m i have to say its a great start for my full pirating career.
Id like to also give credit to the great pilot that i fought against for never breaking the rule of using ECM.Which he had two mounted and if he would have decided to use them,he would have probably won.He also at no time tried to warp out even though i had no cap to run my disrupter.

this pilgrim pilot didn't have a clue in the world(universe)
Lesson here kids... don't get cocky with expensive ships ;)
Is there a possibility he could have been cheating? Didn't you say he was in a ship that was not what it appeared? I sure hope cheaters do not exist in EVE...
No i just thought he had the t1 version of the ship.
Nice kill, I'll take this oppurtunity to again say good fight for my unrelated 1v1 with you, which you also won.
Maybe he had a scrambler opposed to a disruptor, thats why he stayed at 6km, inside ur weapons range, dispite not being webbed anymore.
or maybe he just cocked it up.
That guy has to have some serious financial resources if he can afford to to not run away in that ship.
Yea he did have 7.5KM,but i wouldn't have warped out in a 1v1.But then again he didn't know that.Still i would think one would rather lose a scramb lock then ones ship?
The pilgram was a noob if he lost to a rupture... Nice kill annyway
Umm... I wouldn't salute him for not attempting to run away - only a fool willingly lets 75M get blown to bits, especially when he killed your disruptor through skill.
