Wandering around my regular systems in my Enyo looking for some nice explosions I find a Blackbird on scanner - quickly narrowed down to a belt, and I warp in.
23km... Approach... 20km.. lock, 1 point!
My t2 150s and 125s bite into her shield, my afterburner is on still closing to optimal range.. and then the target is gone! Warped to the station and docked.. a stab on a Blackbird. *sigh* No great loss, I wasn't expecting anything wonderful from a character that age anyway.
I come back later in the day, this time in my Vexor with 2x 20k scrams and find the same character ratting in the same system. It doesn't take long to find the belt. I warp in and find myself landing at 31km! This Vexor just isn't made for fast approaches, so long before I get within scrambler range she's gone. I didn't even bother releasing my drones, no point flagging myself while she can still run. I check the scanner and discover this time she hasn't gone to the station, but to a very nearby safespot! (She's learning quickly). Some pleasantries are exchanged..

.. and I move on. Passing back through this system a few minutes later I check the belts on the offchance she's still ratting while I'm around but I'm not in luck. She's warped to her safespot as soon as I entered system :(

I move on again, looking for more targets - knowing that she's not going to move while I stay in system. Another unfruitful trip and I'm back again. She knows I'm looking for targets, I know she's safespotting.. but I check the belts anyway. What's this? A blackbird in a belt still? Seems she's got too confident with me thinking she's safe..
I warp in.. 11km! 2 points on, nos activated, drones engaged! This blackbird isn't fitted for jamming, seems to be a generic Caldari heavy missile / medium rail combo which doesn't take advantage of any bonuses. As you can see... she really wasn't expecting that..

Blackbird down, the pod gets away (I rarely try while in my Vexor any more). I'm left with mediocre loot and some satisfaction that she didn't get away this time. I give her tips on how to use the Blackbird more effectively, how to set up her shiny new Caracal, and I'm on my way. Credit to her (him?) - she remained pleasant throughout the whole procedure apart from that one outburst.. and she didn't seem too annoyed, it was about time to upgrade anyway.
Now 2am here I log off in my home system.. remembering to put the heavy launchers on the market for her to buy :D

blackbirds are most known for their use of ecm's. thats probably why he was able to disrupt your target and warp.
No ECMs in the destroyed or loot, and having talked to him quite a bit afterwards I seriously doubt he could use them. I'm sticking to the stab ;)
