There I was, sitting at work (Sony PC Tech Support) when I read another great article by Nuggan. I thought to myself, I can't wait for one of these veterans to open their doors and train a couple new PVP pilots. The next day, I load up my browser and find the below recruiting article. I jumped on the oppurtunity.
I was along side the fights tonight with some great pilots, although new, we managed to do well for our first night. Destroyed a Ferox and a rupture. The veins started to pump, even though my Raven got to the action half way in the battle. hehe (Hey, I'm used to boring lvl3/4 missions for the caldari navy). Anyway, it was a great night and afterwards everyone decided to call it a night. Myself on the otherhand had to get some more action. I stuck around for awhile messing with the scanner and learning the little tricks to pinpoint ships. Very very deadly, and easy to use.
So I'm sitting at my safe spot messing with my newfound skill of the scanner, I locate a little ol' rupture ratting on a belt, I warp in and voila, I am within 4000meters. I hit the sensor booster and get a quick lock. Engage the scram and web, and up goes my heart rate. Volley, Volley, Volley, Boom! My first PvP kill. Theres no way I could get the egg, since it takes 16 seconds to lock one! (With sensor booster).

Images in my head came to me when I first died by a pirate, I started to feel bad for the guy. But that slowly dimenished because I reminded myself that this is a game! I was siked, I wanted more!

I go and chill by the safe spot and start scanning for my next victim! I notice a couple T2 cruisers and alike flying around, yet I really wanted to pick my battles, and there's no way I have the balls yet to pick a fight with those (Especially when they are 2+ year old pilots).
I found another! A lone thrasher killing a couple npc's at a nearby belt. I warp in and noooo, I am 45KM from him, he warps off in a frenzy leaving his loot from the NPC's. I tried to follow him but I believe he warped to a gate. I bookmarked one of the cans just in case he tried to come back and retrieve it. So I warp back to my safe spot, and I keep my eye on the belt. What do you know, he came back! I warp into the can, and I come in about 13km from him. Within 7 seconds I get a lock and Volley, Volley, Volley, Boom! Another one for the books!

I collect the loot, and run back to my safe spot. I'm starting to feel like a bully. I mean, I managed to kill 2 frigs, whoopie right? Well, I decided to try and move up a class, and go for a cruiser. Five minutes later I see a 1+ year old Vexor pilot jumping to belt to belt. His sec status was well below mine at -2.4. I took a glance at my fittings, and thought to myself, why not!
I noticed he was starting from the top belt and moving his way down. I jumped to the last belt and just waited. I thought what a easy tactic by me. So easy that it worked! a minute later he jumps within 9km of me! There goes my heart again. He launches 5 drones and flexes his muscles, I started to get nervous as I launch my hammerheads and declare war. I see on local "oh, f*ck." After about a minute his ship goes boom. He almost broke my pathetic shield tank though. He messaged me after and said that he was bored, and that he thought he could beat a 2 month raven pilot. "I had to try."
But honestly, I really think I just out-smarted him, he was forced to fight because I got the first scram off. Who knows though, either way he dropped all T2 items and ammo. Another one for the books. As I gather everything up (even his drones) and headed to the safe spot till my timer wore off.

Nice job there russ, Welcome to the corp! I hate to burst your bubble though, but those first 2 kills weren't frigs.. rupture was a cruiser and thrasher was a destroyer. Still nice kills though!

You mention the Vexor pilots sec is -2.4, but its 0.4 in the kill mail...? Just wondering :)
The destroyer IS a frigate. The Rupture was a Cruiser and the Security status in the kill mail is the sec-status of the SYSTEM...not the victum.

I keep seeing all these kills in Nuggans videos on on this site about people killing in Bosena.
It has 5 belts >.< and yet the system is nearly always bustling with people.

But your using heavies? why not cruise?
If you cant use cruise then thats telling me you wont have good tanking skills either. so I sugest you using a caracal or a moa for pirating untill you get your skills and expierience up.
also, the point of piracy is for fun not for making isk. Ganking cruisers and destroyers in a battleship isnt really fun, try to match the class of ship your target is using (cruiser vs cruiser, bs vs bs, ect.) it will be alot more fun and provide much closer fights.

I recently changed to cruise. I was under the impression that Heavies do more damage than cruise launchers... on smaller targets such as frigs and cruisers. I guess there's only one way to find out.

First,Who wrote the law cruisers MUST have medium weapons? My rax has small blasters come to uplingur and ill show you.
Second, hes new to pvping, so it makes sensce if hes stating out on easy mode first. If you played a game for the first time, Would you jack the dificulty all the way to hard? hell no
Third, Pirating is a legitimate carrer in eve. YOU have the tools necessary to stop you from dieing, your just too stupid or lazy to use them and would rather bitch and complain and yell 'Griefer!' whenever something bad happens to you.

How do you define a target of no value? Any target is of value to me, so why should it matter if I kill it in a frigate or a battleship? Because you think its unfair? I'm sorry, we'll just all play the game your way. We are pirates, people who operate outside the bounds of normal society, why in the world would you think we'd be fair? Our rational for killing you is that we can, we get loot from doing so, you probably wont pay the ransom anyway, and we'll most likely get more from the kill than we would from the ransom.
Dont tell us what you think pirating is, we're the pirates and you arent, we know what it is. Just because you think you know what pirating is in real life does not mean it translates *exactly* to Eve. This is a game and people will play it in a way thats fun for them. I personally just kill whatever I can find in whatever ship I happen to be in. I'm fair in that I'm true to my word and honor 1v1s and wont kill you if you pay my ransom, *if* I ransom.

here is a little annoying thing to do if you want to get them pods b4 they warp out keep a decent smart bomb on fittings if you are solo hunting does not take much to pwn a pod
i found out the hard way wen this dude pwned me in my first thorax made me go boom in 3 shots then bombed the hell outa me pod :) keep up the evil work bye
