Hey all, this is my first OOC post so I guess I'd better start by introducing myself. I used to play back in June of 05, but as we all know, being a carebear quickly grows tiresome, so I quit the game and almost forgot about it. Then, later that year, I saw a string of articles on EVE in PCGamer UK, and decided that hell, I might as well give it another shot. I signed up at 0:01am on the first of January 2006, and started to learn about setting up characters. After finding out what works best and how to kit my attributes out, I deleted all past characters and started my final character, Krist Valentine. Luckily, I'd made a few friends in my last characters and I wasn't alone, and within 7 days of me starting out, me and a friend Nakumi had become partners and set out to do piracy. We made 13mil in a week and were richer than we could have dreamed of being without the glory of ransoming. But we felt that piracy was restricting our ability to buy new ships and equipment, so we backed out of the trade and went into a stint of security status grinding with shitstain corporations which will go unmentioned, but you can tell which ones I'm talking about if you check my employment history.
After a month or so of this, I grew tired of the grind. I convinced Nakumi to leave with me, and he (strangely enough) joined another carebear corp to get some cash for a geddon. I set up with a group of guys I met in Genesis, and we started piracy all over again, with an explosive first day. Barely had I got into the homesystem when my CEO announced a target. I warped in as the poor guy was ejecting from his Malediction and I quickly jacked into the battered interceptor (which was kitted out about as poorly as you could possibly imagine - they had hull reppers!). We sold the ship - I'm more of a Crusader guy myself, and that became the scheme of things for a while. Again, however, I decided that my security rating was worrying me, so I went for a brief stint with another crap corp to get my rating higher, but when I heard our corp with 25 online screaming to dock because ONE guy had come into the system in a DESTROYER, I decided that I had fallen too far. I quit and started my own corp, and am finally happy with my progression.
Originally wanting to be a mercenary corp, I decided that maybe that'd wait till I got more money. I called up a few friends from back in the day, and we met up, me in my Crusader, them in all manner of ships. Unfortunately, all but one of them ran into troubles on the way over to meet me, ranging from lag to other real life problems, so I met up with a friend in a Thorax to do some damage. We moved out to a new region where people weren't fully aware of my operations, and started afresh in the pirating world.
Our first target was a Prophecy, who went down in seconds. When I asked him for a fair deal of 8mil for a 26mil ship + modules, he said ''20000?'' so I decided we'd pop him. Our second target was a fully t2 kitted rifter, who I solo'd because of my friend's terrible warp speed :P
Our third target was probably my best fight yet. We scouted out and scanned down a Rupture pilot in a nearby belt and I warped in first to get him scrammed. This was the worst mistake ever. We got the Rupture pilot to armour and he realised the error of his tactics and webbed, NOS'd, scrammed and locked all weapons on my little Crusader. My friend and I put a rush on things and locked every single quick-kill tactic we knew onto the guy, who finally popped, when I was at 36% structure, and practically expecting to die.
On a good note, he had an ENTIRELY t2 loadout, and we made a good few million off his cargo.
It's good to be back!
