Is it alright if I accept gametime code seller advertisment on the website? The seller is an official CCP reseller so there's no issue about legality and how trustable they are. EVETimeCode won't ever be displayed in pop-ups or anything of that annoying kind. Maybe a couple of times mentioned in a post, but that's as far as we go.
This way I can phase-out the google ad which sometimes display isk-sellers and still gain a little something to contribute running the site.
My estimated cost for the site as it is now in terms of bandwidth (300gb), paying 1 swedish crown per gigabyte roughly. But nothing for the actual co-location (since I own the serverhall).
Server-upgrades cost a 11000 onetime fee, split over one year.
7 crowns is worth one dollar. You do the maths. :)
The income from the ads does by no means cover even a fraction of this.
But is better than the income from the google-ads.
If there's an overwhelming negative feedback I'll remove the ad. Why? Cause this site is for the community, by the community and I'd hate if the community didnt support eve-pirate.com anymore.

I personally have no problem with the site. It just seems that they are offering a service of game time codes. And if CCP has no problem with it, I don't either. I don't see how they make money off of this, but that's their business

By all means, run the ads. You definitely have more ethics behind your advertising policy than almost any other site out there, so we can trust you on this point for sure.

You have every reason to advertise for ETC. It doesn't get any more legitimate than approval from CCP.
Besides, as you say, this site is for the community... but if your expenses build too high, it will vanish. None of us want that :)

The whole fact that you actually ask the visitors and staff is a sign of great respect. Anything that gives you some profit to keep the site up and running is a good idea in my book.

Do it, being able to buy GTC's with ISK has helped me a lot because there are still places where credit cards are kinda ... scarce. :)

I think CCP has a questionable morale with allowing gtc sellings for isk ingame (incorrect imho), but disallowing ebay money sales (correct policy imho).
However, this should stay CCPs problem, and not become yours Ander.
As long as CCP allows the gtc sales, run as many ads for them as you like, especially if it helps in paying for a great site. I'll be sure to click the ads occasionally.
