A Rich Alt learns a valuable lesson in Empire Space

freaky·

So there I am in Tash ganking the miners for all they're worth. Then I happen upon a corp doing a mining op in one of the belts. So I warp in for a closer look.

There's a Raven and Thorax protecting a gaggle of miners and a barge. I scan the Raven. OMG!@@##!@ He has a few Gist Type-B X-Large Boosters, Domination Shield Boost Amplifier, all T2 Power Diags, named cruise and torp launchers, faction smartbombs and more. Every single item was extremely expensive.

I look at the pilot.............

A barely 4 month old pilot with billions of ISK worth of mods! I figure what the hell. Worst case scenario, I loose a BS and some crappy mods, so I'd be out about 30mil, or I could risk it all for a chance to win a few billion in mods. I'm a gamblin man so I decide to go for it. I got get my Dominix and come back to play. I am flagged to the Raven pilot and also a Thorax pilot. I lock, scram and jam the Raven. His shields are slowly dropping. My shields are holding firm. All looks well. Then the funniest thing happened. He decided to fire off his smartbomb. The only problem was my friend was right next to him and he didn't have the warning message enabled about firing on a neutral target in Empire. So I am still holding my own and all of a sudden I see his shields drop instantly, followed by his armor and his structure. Concord FTW! I proceed to pop the Thorax pilot as I snag the Ravens loot can. I open it up and almost cry....... I cry because all of the 500mil modules went poof!I politely ask if he would send me the killmail since Concord ganked it from me. They decline and the trash talk starts. I don't understand this kind of smacktalk. Sexual smacktalk is so odd. Apparenly this guy is a homosexual as he keeps asking me to perform favors on him even after I tell him I am a guy. [ 2006.08.25 05:01:54 ] Nexa Necis > be a friend and send me the killmail that concord so crapily stole from me [ 2006.08.25 05:02:18 ] Kie Soe > you didnt stand a chance pal [ 2006.08.25 05:02:23 ] Nexa Necis > uh huh [ 2006.08.25 05:07:10 ] Nexa Necis > so i take it thats a no to sending me the killmail? [ 2006.08.25 05:09:42 ] Nexa Necis > /emote sighs [ 2006.08.25 05:10:22 ] Dominar Solon > oah yeah sure [ 2006.08.25 05:10:43 ] Dominar Solon > right after u get on your knees and open wide [ 2006.08.25 05:11:10 ] Nexa Necis > you do realize you're hitting on a man [ 2006.08.25 05:11:28 ] Dominar Solon > im not hitting on you but giving you the honor of licking my knob [ 2006.08.25 05:11:51 ] Nexa Necis > no thank you,. i dont go that way [ 2006.08.25 05:11:57 ] Nexa Necis > nice of you to offer i suppose [ 2006.08.25 05:12:11 ] Nexa Necis > sexual haerassment is a violation of CCP rules [ 2006.08.25 05:12:19 ] Nexa Necis > i will also report this to the ISS council [ 2006.08.25 05:12:58 ] Nexa Necis > IIRC they do not tolerate any kind of sexual smack talk [ 2006.08.25 05:13:56 ] Possessed Clown > wow never heard of sexual smack talk lol He then goes on to say that I have no skills and I would've lost had Concord not interefered. I agreed that was a chance I was willing to take, but by no means did he or could he really outskill me per se, his main advantage was the fact he had a ship fitted with a few billion worth of mods, while my ship had completely generic items worth no more than 10 million total. [ 2006.08.25 05:15:27 ] Dominar Solon > it was a good tactic just your additude and thinking you actualy have some skill is pitiful [ 2006.08.25 05:15:59 ] Nexa Necis > i could say the same for you really. i mean your friend in his BS was a younger pilot than me, but he did have some incredibly expensive mods fitted [ 2006.08.25 05:16:23 ] Dominar Solon > we have fought better then u and won in low sec [ 2006.08.25 05:16:24 ] Nexa Necis > so really, skillwise, you dont win that argument on that basis, but you would win it if you were to argue fittings [ 2006.08.25 05:16:48 ] Nexa Necis > well then stick to low sec as high sec seems to be a trouble area for you [ 2006.08.25 05:17:00 ] Possessed Clown > I dunno does this game take a WHOLE lot of skill [ 2006.08.25 05:17:04 ] Dominar Solon > My agrument exactly i dont like high sec [ 2006.08.25 05:17:19 ] Possessed Clown > then leave :) [ 2006.08.25 05:17:20 ] Dominar Solon > But he did learn a valuable lesson with those smart bombs [ 2006.08.25 05:17:28 ] Nexa Necis > thats fine, but i wouldnt make excuses. [ 2006.08.25 05:17:35 ] Nexa Necis > yeah SB's are not for empire [ 2006.08.25 05:17:44 ] Dominar Solon > i have no excuses, I said what you did was smart. [ 2006.08.25 05:17:48 ] Nexa Necis > k thanks [ 2006.08.25 05:18:01 ] Nexa Necis > so i ask again, does this mean you wont send me the killmail? please? [ 2006.08.25 05:18:15 ] Dominar Solon > no i will not you have no rights to it [ 2006.08.25 05:18:23 ] Nexa Necis > im aware of that. that is why i asked [ 2006.08.25 05:18:33 ] Dominar Solon > and why you where told no [ 2006.08.25 05:18:47 ] Nexa Necis > a simple no would suffice, no need for unsportsmanlike conduct and sexual taunts I really enjoy how people cannot accept loss in this game. They rationalize it seven ways from Sunday...... [ 2006.08.25 05:21:06 ] Nexa Necis > thats not unsportsmanlike, thats called not having the fire warning turned on in empire. i turn it off in low sec, and on whilst im in empire [ 2006.08.25 05:21:48 ] Nexa Necis > hmm i lost no drones and my shield never moved really. so im not sure what the point is, and had your friend killed me, i assure you, you would have heard nothign other than good fight [ 2006.08.25 05:21:51 ] Dominar Solon > haivng an outsider gurantee your victory is always unsprtsman So he is saying, having outside help to even my chances is unsportsmanlike. Hmmm....that's funny as it seems like a rational and valid tactic to me. He has a habit of making a point that is totally wrong too..... [ 2006.08.25 05:25:50 ] Dominar Solon > skill and gumption dictate lowsec [ 2006.08.25 05:26:05 ] Nexa Necis > numbers dictate low sec from what ive seen [ 2006.08.25 05:26:15 ] Dominar Solon > numbers have nothign to do with it [ 2006.08.25 05:26:21 ] Dominar Solon > unless ur weak [ 2006.08.25 05:26:27 ] Nexa Necis > of course not, thats why you're in an alliance [ 2006.08.25 05:26:45 ] Dominar Solon > alliance has nothing to do with my proitection but access [ 2006.08.25 05:27:31 ] Nexa Necis > funny, the ISS Navy protects the areas you have access to, meaning they would assist you, meaning you have extra people, meaning you have the numbers in your favor [ 2006.08.25 05:27:33 ] Dominar Solon > I will loose ships on my own terms i will die by my terms. I will follow the rules of an alliance but not hide behind them [ 2006.08.25 05:27:56 ] Dominar Solon > meaning ISS memebers where and are always passing through and there friends in this system I've been in low sec. It's a numbers game most of the time. I am not saying this is true in every case, but in my experience, that's how I have seen it. Just like when I see a 3 year old pilot in a BS with uber mods get ganked by a fleet of 18 T1 frigates with t1 mods and 4 month old pilots. I've also seen how the ISS works. They are a pretty tight alliance and they do a fine job at protecting and defending whatever their goal for the week is. So to say he is not relying on numbers I don't think is very true. Also he blows his own point of "low sec is dictated by skills and gumption" by 1)Having an elite high sec mining op and 2)His 14 man corp is relying on their Alliance to gain access to 0.0 space safely. Their only accomplishment really was joining the ISS Alliance as far as I could see, because without that, I highly doubt they would be nothing more than roadkill in the open space of 0.0. The Thorax pilot asked if they could buy the loot I got back from me, but they lowballed me on the price claiming they had extras of all of it, so they didn't really need it. Lucky guys indeed. So my grand total for the night was 2 macrominer kills, the Raven kill which Concord helped with, and the destruction of the verbose Thorax pilot. All in all between the ore and all the mods I got about 100mil in a very short time and had a blast doing it. Sadly the 3 war decs I have enacted this week are proving less than fruitful. They are all shacking up in the stations and not wanting to come out and play. Oh well, I still had fun tonight. Who says there is no action or money to be made by high sec piracy? Certainly not me...... :)

Zethe·

Didnt you know everyone wants to be a pirate its just not everyone realises it yet !!

Sebu·

That is awsome. And I respect the way you handle the smack. I will never smack but I have a hard time not getting upset about people that do smack.

Question, probably a stupid one... How do you pirate in highsec/empire? I mean how were they able to be attacked by you? Was it by wardec? Or can theft of some sort?

Thankyou

freaky·

For the most part I just gank ores from people and the fights usually follow shortly thereafter.

I do war dec as well. Right now I have 3 active war decs.

vult·

And this is what I am trying to do atm - although at 10 days old the skills are lacking. But so far I've seen Vexors running from blaster-incursus ... it's just sad. :(

It's not illegal if the enemy agrees to it (Shoots back). ;o

Good Kill! Don't worry about ISS Navy getting involved. ISS are a 0.0 alliance. We consider all losses in Empire to be consensual PvP - especially the hauler ones.
