t1 frigs can still cause greif

I was flying through enemy space deep in 0.0, looking for targets. My trusty t1 fitted rifter flew quickly between stargates, low on the food chain but a threat nontheless. I blew past small, disorganized camps and used and abused gate aggro rules to my advantage. I never stayed in one system for longer then 5 minutes, if a target didn't present itself to me, I moved on. I had one goal in mind- cause the most possible damage to the resident alliance, and, more importantly, refuse them the satisfaction of killing my ship. I went straight into their home system and skirted around a few surrounding systems. I had to be careful because continual piracy in this alliance's space made them paranoid, and now that I had been sighted in local and warnings spread via alliance chat the residents safespotted and docked. I put distance between that crowded system and myself, flying deeper into their space looking for people who think they are safe just because they are 5 jumps away from the alarm. I spotted one hauler, but he quickly dissapears as my insta falls short of the gate. Damn. A few minutes pass, and I see a bestower on scan. To the gate! I warp there and see the bestower dissapear as the gate activates. I jump through and wait, cloaked, on the other side. the bestower decloaks 12km away from me. My rifter flies out of its cloak at 2KM/sec as I activate MWD, disruptor, and guns. The bestower is aligning! I point my rifter directly towards the bestower and brace for impact. WHAM. Cleared for publication by: Ander
The bestower shudders and its nose begins to point away from the next gate. My guns are biting into its shields but the bestower is slowly realigning itself. Even though I only have one point of scrambling, no amount of warp core stabilization can help a ship that can't align. WHAM. My rifter jolts and small spars break off as the force of the impact shocks it. The bestower spins on its axis due to a well placed strike, and my guns start damaging its armor as the ghostly traces of shield fade away. WHAM. A third strike for good measure. My rifter will survive, but it looks like the bestower will not. The guns finish the armor, and the industrial's structure caves in surprisingly quickly. A can drops out and a pod tries to escape. Unsucessfully. Squish. (victim's name removed in the hopes that he does not learn his lesson) Victim: xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Alliance: xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Corp: xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Destroyed: Bestower System: xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Security: 0.0 Involved parties: Name: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (laid the final blow) Security: -10.0 Alliance: NONE Corp:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Ship: Rifter Weapon: 200mm Light Prototype I Automatic Cannon Destroyed items: Monopropellant I Hydrazine Boosters Expanded Cargohold I Expanded Cargohold I Dual 650mm Repeating Artillery I, Qty: 101 (Cargo) 'Anointed' I EM Ward Reinforcement (Cargo) Mark I Modified SS Nanofiber Structure I look through the can, and curse the rifter's small cargo bay. REPEATEDLY. 4,000 meters cubed of loot total survived the blast. A few nanofibers, several regolith brand large shield extendors, and a stack of almost two hundred 1400MM and 1200MM artillery cannons. I grab the large shield extendors and as many 1400's as I can carry and quickly make a safespot and a jetcan to take loot to. I go back and forth, getting several loads of 1400MM artillery cannons, but unfortunately nowhere near enough to even make a dent in the sheer amount of loot. After 3 or 4 trips, reinforcements start showing up in local. A battleship appears first at the gate as I scoop loot. With so much ISK sitting there and the enemy on the verge of reclaiming it, I knew what I had to do. The typhoon had no chance to lock my rifter as it warped to the safespot, leaving behind the shattered remnants of a couple hundred million ISK in artillery cannons, unrecoverable. I regret nothing! I did what had to be done. Despite the damage caused, my ship was still worth less then one million ISK. but to make this act of piracy perfect, I had to not only get my loot back home safely, but deny the enemy any opportunity to retaliate, despite the very limited damage they can actually cause. I have a little over an hour to get the remainder of this loot as it sits in its jetcan. Without a moment to spare, i point the rifter back home and insta between gates as quickly as an caldari like me can possibly insta. One or two gatecamps were in the process of being formed as my flashing red ship taunted them with its presence and invulnerability. I dock safely in my home station and pick out a Kestrel for its large cargo bay and set out once more. The alliance camps in my way prove futile as the speed of my tech one frigate carried me safely to my jetcan. Even though I had passed through their home systems several times, I didn't feel like risking it once again as by this time their interdictor pilots must have put away their mining lasers by now. I took the long route home, 15 extra jumps. final tally for the day: damage caused to the enemy: 1 bestower, approximately 200-300 million in modules, a clone. who knows how much wasted time and frustration. damage caused to me: 1 point of armor damage, a couple hundred units of ammo

Rifter FTW. I love this ship.

Well done on a successful raid.

Good stuff. Anyone sending 200-300m ISK worth of stuff unescorted really deserves to lose it anyway, for showing that little respect :-)
