A friendly reminder

Ander·

We at EVE-Pirate.com tries to make sure that account information of our authors are always secured.
The database password-entries are hashed and server is running on a hardened linux-installation.

But a system is only as secure as its weakest link.
We will never have the same kind of budget to harden our systemsecurity as well as CCP. Thus, we'd like to remind all authors and registered users to NEVER use the same passwords for your EVE account here at eve-pirate.com .

Regarding the emails and usernames stored in our database, our policy still firmly remains that we will never share this to a third-part.
The stored email-addresses are solely used for administration-purposes and for LEAD (only me) staff to be able to reach members.

The reason why I bring up this topic is simply that we're suffering from growing pains.
EVE-Pirate.com continues to grow and we're reaching a large portion of the eve playerbase. This in turn means that E-P.com has become a target of opportunity for scammers/spammers and other annoying creatures lurking the net. Daily logs verify this matter with failed login attempts and other maltraffic reaching our network.
