I started EVE about a month ago as ive known people who have played it ever since beta but never actually bothered getting a computer that could actually run it succesfully. Last month one of my old friends convinced me to load it onto my PC and make an account. i had my trial account for 2 days and already i was hooked!
Having friends in the game helped me get into it of course but the whole idea behind piracy got me wanting to find out what it was really like.
Note: if there is any grammor mistakes in this it was done at 5am in the morning, please excuse me :P
Trolling through the eve site one day it lead me to eve-pirate.com and im very thankful it did, this site has kept me entertained for quite some hours when i am making those long journeys between systems :)
The gist for this post is i want to share my very first pirating story with the world, it isnt anything major but it gave me such a buzz, such an adrenaline rush and will forever hold a nice memory inside my EVE career :)
It had been a hard days running missions (how sad only l1 :() in gerper and i was going to fly to jita as i had to purchase an item as cheap as possible this was some 18 jumps away, i set my autopilot out of gerper and it passes through Mya, a neighbouring 0.4 System. i see only 3 people in local, 1 person which is in a mining corp, a 3month old char and a 2 year old vet, both posertive sec ratings. I think what the hell, maybe one of them is in the belts (As mya only has 3 belts). To my amazement there was a lady in the very first belt she was flying an Iteron Mark III.
By this point i had noticed that the veteran had left the system and it was just me and this lady mining it out in the first belt.
I quickly fly upto her scram and start to send reigns of vollys from my trusty Caracals heavy launchers.
Pop goes the shields, my adrenaline starts rushing and i start psyically shaking at my actions on what is just visuals on a computer monitor. she gets down into armor and as seen on eve-pirate.com i seace my firing and open a message to her and ask for 2mil random for her to keep her ship and me to leave her alone. She refuses and gives me a hail of smack talk from calling me an asshole to threatening me with people whome she knows and also stating how she has a BS and she will bring it out and 'own' me. Well to be honest, she wasnt in any position to make threats now was she? pop goes the ship. I stair in amazement as her pod dosnt move... i attempt to lock the pod 9 seconds on my caracal, im thinking damn shes gonna get away!
Still.. dosnt move.. Locked and scramed.
I then continue to say 'Got Implants?' and then ask for 4mil as she did not cooperate before.
I am then again greeted by alot of smack talk, i give her a further 30 seconds to think about it. She then proceeds to tell me that she was poor and had no money, which i found quite hard to believe as she previously stated she was going to bring out her BS to own me.. so i took no mercy on that front. By this time i have noticed that there is a pirate ive seen about these parts has just entered local, i did not really want to take the chance that this lady knew her or he'd scan me and come for me, so i continued taking the pod out. Just as the pod got into structure she screamed 'have 700k its all i have!' By this time it was far to late and i see her disappear out of local and i imagine out of my EVE life for good, this could not be further from the truth.

I get to an outscirt system around jita and find the item i wished to purchase, i dock for the night and goto bed with the adrenaline still pumping through my veins just thinking about what i had done, it brung a sort of evil smile upon my face. i wake up the next morning, after having a shower and some food i decide to load up EVE with it being the weekend i thought why not.
About half an hour into playing i get a Convo window open, its Sagittari chatting more smacktalk than ever. her opening line was something along the lines of 'lets have another battle' i tell her im quite a distance away in jita her responce was 'i know where you fucking are' so i know im going to be in for a nice good smacking once this starts up, she continues chatting shit and brings in a friend of hers.. a 2month old pilot named bussa and he comes in continue to smack a little at the start but then calms down and seems quite a nice guy.
i think he symaphised on me when she would'nt shut the fuck up with the constant smacking, girls nowadays. anyhow i managed to take a screenshot of a moment that made me giggle a little bit :)

Anyhow she finished off her smacking and blocked me and we never spoke again. a few hours later i bought a few more items in and around in the neighbouring systems, whilst flying to the other system i was semi afk alt tabbing between IRC and EVE i flick back to EVE at a gate and to my amazement i have this Sagittari in some sort of cruiser hitting my shield tank. i only just missed it as i flicked back to eVE as it was jumping through, she only managed to do 500 damage of my 3500 Caracal tank either way, but i was quite gutted that id missed a chance to take her out again. I think nothing of it grab my stuff from the station and tweak my ship i then continue back to my original station for some TLC and relaxing.
When i reached the gate exiting my system i could not believe my luck, i was litterally gob smacked, this very lady was sat at the gate camping it, so as she was flashing red i locked her and got the first shot off before she even realised id landed within 10k of her.
I furiously clicked on all 5 of my heavies to try and make this as quick as possible.
I smile as i see her rails could only just scratch my shield hull and to my amazement she was well into armour after about
3 volleys of my rockets.
but then something terrible happens, she warps away! i'd only forgotten to scram her when i was engaging!
Ever since that moment ive not seen her again, but i guess being spanked twice in 2 days, and traveling 17 jumps from the place i originally podded her lol :)
Funny thing is, after when i checked local she was screaming in high sec space how she'll pay anyone to pod me right there and then, oh well, hysterical people nowadays.
I know its nothing of a major story, but its something i'll remember for the whole time i played EVE, the girl that popped my pirating cherry, and what fun it was :)

Good thing you podded her, since she was lying about not having money, which is obvious, since she was offering to pay others to hunt you.

but yeah sorry about podding you but its the way the game is u know, i was reeeeeeeal shocked to find you in jita with me, made my blood rush like no other before it, was fun, and thanks, you were a good victim :P
Sagittari you shouldn't be threatening people IRL. This as you pointed out is a game and threatening to "curse" people makes you look childish and foolish. If you check the EULA you will also see that making such threats could well lead to a ban etc.
You must also remember that the person who is shooting you could be a kid and hence swearing at them....
You can avoid getting killed by pirates by not picking up stray cans and staying out of low sec. While learning (by testing on corpmates) how to defend yourself from pirates.
There are many sites around to help you learn how to defend yourself.
Here's hoping that you disappoint the next guy who decides to come after you. ;)

Sag, get over yourself, PVP is what EVE is all about and smacking, although good for letting off steam for a short time, really does little to change either the pirate or yourself. I learnt this the hard way in my first 2 weeks playing.
But seriously, how dumb do you have to be to mine in low sec, in a hauler, with no protection?! I guess this is one lesson you will never forget huh?
