Well, I am relatively new to the pirate scene, and have been an avid reader of eve-pirate.com for awhile now. I figured it was time for me to tell the story of my first pirate kill and how I became addicted :)
It had been a boring day of running missions and such, killing mission rats, hauling this here or that there. I soon decided that I needed a change of pace for a little while. So, I jumped into my trusty T1 fitted Rifter and headed a couple of jumps over to some low sec systems.
I jump into the first system and find local to have only one other occupant, who was significantly older than myself, and in a station to boot. :( Oh well. On to the next system. I now jump into Tunudan, and find several people in local. Perfect.
I safespot and begin to scan the belts, and find a caracal in belt 2 so I head on over to investigate. As I exit warp I find myself 15km away from the cruiser and see I have a front row seat to watch a good looking fight between him and some hapless belt rats. Not one for sitting idle, I decide to enter the fray.
I AB towards him closing the distance rapidly, lock complete, scram activated, turrets online and firing at optimal rate. I set myself in a tight orbit and watch as his shields go down. He decides it would be better to finish off the rats before dealing with me I guess, because it was only after they were dead that he began firing back at me. :)
Surprisingly, he wasn't doing much damage to my little frig, and before long he was well into structure. Yay!
I convo him and ask for 3mil in exchange for me letting him keep his ship. He is reluctant at first. So, the guns blaze away again. Now I have his attention :)
Again I ask for 3mil to leave him alone, and this time he complies, and I see my wallet doing that beautiful flashing I have come to love signaling the money has been transferred.
True to my word, I let him go and head back to my home system. Finally realizing what I had done (and having an adrenaline rush as well :) ) I realize that I am finished running boring, monotonous missions. I have found a new calling to enjoy.
Being a Pirate!! :)
