This is my first entry so I hope you all enjoy it.
I was hanging around Tash Murkon Prime doing my best to disrupt mining operations when I see on local someone needing help with a mission. I wait for a bit, this guy is offering 100k to help kill one rat on a level 2 mission. I figure what the hell maybe I can get him to fire on me. So I grab my Rupture and head out. I gang with the guy and warp to his loc. I find my pidgeon in a blackbird trying hopelessly to break a rat frigates shield tank. I close and pop the frig fairly quick like. I am pretty upset about him not being able to drop that frig with his blackbird, so I send him a newb guide and begin instructing him on some of the finer points of combat.
He tells me he has 5's in missiles and blah blah. I offer to let him shoot at me to test his damage and such. He warps out to refit with his normal setup. I notice that I am set up for smaller ships but hey what the hell right? He comes in and I leave the gang, throw out a convo invite and tell Mr. Blackbird to drop a can for me to loot. He does and I tell him he can legally fire on me now. He does! I sit there for a bit letting him test his damage. He takes a while to eat through my shield.
When does he want me to stop? I say go ahead and break my tank. He's out at about 40km. So I kick on the AB and head straight for him. 10km I hit him with 3 nos and warp disruptor. 8km I open up my 220's. Unfortunatley I had loaded out for armor tankers, so the shield inched its way down. Nothing in chat or local yet. I get him into armor, which starts falling fast. Still no shout to stop and no screaming in local. My tank is holding at about half with repper going.
His armor collapses followed shortly by a bright white light. "Lesson complete. Have a nice day." I close convo and check loot. Bout 3 mil worth in his can and a hardy Good Job from my glorious leader. Oh and I find out later that my corp was at one time at war with his corp a while back.

GO TO .4 OR LOWER THEN YOU'LL BE A PIRATE. TRICKING SOME NOOB INTO SHOOTING YOU IN HIGHSEC THEN KILLING HIM IS *NOT* PIRACY FFS.
You freaking noobs are nothing but carebears that think they're clever. You're no more a pirate than that guy is.
In my opinion, exploiting other players for profit is the definition of a pirate, and on the note, where in his story does he say he is a pirate? ;)
Dude, stop being a douche. I'm sure you'd pat Freaky on the back even though he's doing the same thing.
Blah. Nevermind. xD I thought this was another "take ore from can, guy fires" story.
Well it is on EvE-PIRATE.com....... And no, piracy is not necessarily simply exploiting others, its doing it in lawless or nearly lawless space, giving yourself those restrictions, and dealing with the fact that anyone can shoot you anytime, anywhere. People who fight in highsec are just noobs that are too afraid to take the jump into a real "Risk vs Reward" area.
Btw, I dont care who the author is, if they post this junk on eve-PIRATE.com, they'll get the same response.
I agree with Afro, this is pure griefing, and not even in a little bit fun way...
If the person needed help for a lvl 2 mission you know he's weak, then you abuse his trust to kill him.
This is the sort of thing that drives new people out of the game, and causes CCP to change piracy.
this story makes me sick more than anything.
Actually Yuckyduck did him a big favor. He learned a valuable lesson at a very cheap price.
Better for him to die now and lose 3-5 mil in stuff than to die 6 months from now in his nicely kitted Raven to a similar tactic and lose 100mil worth of stuff.
I've found these same kind of guys in .4 space too. All you gotta do is ask if anyone needs help in a mission and you'd be surprised at how many people invite you.
Low sec has nothing to do with anything really. Being in low sec only means you got numbers on your side.
I rarely see anyone flying low sec alone. It's mostly gangs and gate camps.
The risk vs reward factor is crap actually in low sec. There really isn't a greater reward per se in low sec, only greater risk. So the risk vs. reward argument falls a bit short here.
High sec is a bit less risky with just as much rewards if not more since people tend to let their guard down in high sec.
You guys talk a lot of crap to people who post stories. How about you back it up with a link to a killboard to show us all your millions of low sec solo ganks against multiple targets while in a non-pvp set up ship.
Pathetic. Killing newbs for some small change. You're not a pirate, you're just a loser exploiting game mechanics and people who're too eager to trust a stranger for their own good.
Don't call yourself a pirate as it would be an insult to all the REAL pirates out there.
That was without a doubt the most pathetic attempt at piracy i've ever seen. I won't even bother to explain how much of a complete idiot you are when your whole story so clearly defines it.
Have a nice day. Lesson learned... idiot..
From Merriam-Webster
Pirate: one who commits or practices piracy
Piracy: an act of robbery on the high seas; also : an act resembling such robbery
Robbery: the act or practice of robbing; specifically : larceny from the person or presence of another by violence or threat
Larceny: the unlawful taking of personal property with intent to deprive the rightful owner of it permanently
Yep, sound slike he is a pirate to me boys. Take your moral compass and point it elsewhere... Nothing to see here but a pirate story. Keep up the work Yuckyduck
Sorry to disagree, but the definition I got from your stated dictionary is much different.
Piracy: 1 : an act of robbery esp. on the high seas; specifically : an illegal act of violence, detention, or plunder committed for private ends by crew or passengers of a private ship or aircraft against another ship or aircraft on the high seas or in a place outside the jurisdiction of any state.
There was also a 2nd definition dealing with copyright, but that is not the subject matter here.
What seems more appropriate to his actions is:
Confidence man: n : a swindler who exploits the confidence of his victim
No matter how you sugar coat it, Yuckyduck took a noob, made him think he was his friend, and betrayed him. A very uncool action that can sour the game for a new player. I will grant the guy should not have been in the ship yet, and I assume his corp is at fault there for urging him to get in a cruiser, so he got in the first one he could, but that does not make Yucky's actions any cooler.
As to the comment about him at least not being in a Raven, at his skill level as described in the story, the finacial loss would have been about the same for him, as I'm sure he had most of his money tied up in that ship.
Ace here's the links to merriam-webster, I assume where Jamikest found the definitions.

Thanks. Seems some people have a hard time with abbreviated definitions. IE the bits that have to do with software piracy removed.
Ace:
Since I know Yuckyduck, and the victim in this story, I can say that boo hoo, the noob was betrayed.
Now, since I am a noob, and this character that was swindled was older than I, I can say with a fair footing beneath my feet: Stop crying for the poor noobs!
Being a pirate doesn't make you a nice guy. Being a nice guy (in character, in game) means you shouldnt really be at this website. This is a PIRACY website. That means that stories involving ALL means needed to acquire YOUR isk will be posted here. If this offends you, post away, flame on! But you will be falling on deaf ears, my friend... for we are pirates.
Damnit Afro, you used to be cool - what happened?
You suck dude, killing noobs and come here brag about it. You suck to the bottom !
Yeah, that was my though exactly. The proportions of money in ship vs. money in wallet would possibly be even worse now than when he's on a raven.
