Ok, in all honesty, before this I have never really experienced too much smack talk during my pirating. Maybe some comments of "That was dumb" or "You just made a mistake pal", those sorts of things. Well, that was about to change.
Myself and two corp mates decide to go for a jaunt through some of the low sec systems nearby. We had a Vengeance, Ferox, and Cyclone between us, and all T2 fitted :) so we were ready to go. As we start looking around the first system, someone in local starts this conversation:

Ok, him and his corpies are complaining about us ganking him while he was solo and now he wants some revenge and brought his mates with him. My corpmate Angel decides he wanted to try and goad them into a fight to stop the smack :) Well this goes on and on with them saying they are waiting for us at so and so belt, and when we get there they arent there. :(

Now, we are actually hunting them and they decide to jump to the next system over!! Some way to back up all their smack. Anyway, we finally get them to agree to meet up with us in one of the belts and the show is on :) One of the Feroxes warps in and immediately we engage eachother. Moments after his corpies jump in too to make it a 3 on 3 :) The first Ferox bites it within 30 seconds but the pod eludes us. LeToniarge is in a Ferox with Multispecs and only gets one cycle completed when we get a lock and have him into structure when he warps off leaving his corp mate for dead lol. The last guy is also in a Ferox and he bites it quick enough. Then they have nicer things to say in local after the fight :)

Now it comes out that they were just "testing setups" and threw their ships together with no skills /me shrugs I can now say I have experienced smack at its finest. These guys went on and on forever about how we were running from them and didnt want to fight, and actually called us liars when we stated we went to where they were wating for us but found nothing. And when it came down to it, they tell us they lost because they were "testing setups" lol. That cracks me up. All in all we three had a good night logging another Stabber kill and almost got a Scorp as well, but it had lots of jammers :( People should at least be able to back up some of their smack dont you all agree?

When I used to solo pirate in low sec I would hear that crap every day. Same excuses by lots of people.
"I wasn't setup for pvp", "I didn't have my t2 gear fitted", and the ever popular, "You're a dead man" and "You don't know who you're fucking with" comments were heard every day in convos.
I also used to get, "You're a pussy cause you're in a npc corp so we can't war dec you" kinds of remarks because I would see the same people I killed over and over in high sec space. So that's why I first made my corp was so these people had one less excuse as to why they couldn't kill me.
Then I got into the whole empire war dec scene and all the fun you can have doing that.
Even with all the killing and stealing I had done, I've only had 3 or 4 dec's declared on me. However I have declared about 10 times that many on all those people who would threaten me daily when I entered their haven of low sec.
Every time I encounter smack-talk, I add that person to my address book and look them up when I need a new war target. :)

Hey thanks for the positive comment! I was always one for avoiding PvP and only within the last couple of weeks have I decided to try it out, and I must say I am now thoroughly addicted!! Anyway, I have noticed that ALOT of people smack but when it comes time back up they are nowhere to be found. :) Good Luck out there with any future empire wars Freaky, cuz I know I will be enjoying my jaunts through lo sec :)

dude, youhave no idea, lord and angel probably were in test setups,
they coulda destroyed you easyly.. trust me, iv'e flown with them before.
Last time i heard, they killed a command ship in their 2 bc's..

Yea, I have to admit, Im not a big fan of smack, but when they dished out all thier moths could throw at us, and jumped system, I had had enough, my first thing I say in local was all the smack I could say without feeling dumb... and i got to love how after they got thier asses handed to them they were *testing* setups... god I love people that can accept the fact that they lost... horribly... :)
And thanks Cuckoo... allthough they may not have been test setups, We def had some fun, and cant wait to take you back into the fold!
