It hurt, a lot. Being killed - podkilled - wasn't something that really was supposed to happen to you. It can't really be described outside of the flash. Your faithful ship erupts into a vapor cloud brighter than anything you've ever seen from the inside and then you notice that the debris from the explosion is pelting the pod's exterior then you notice that Aura's lock indicator is screaming inside your mind and then . . . well, the abyss yawns at you and you realize - a split second before a 425mm lead railgun round disintigrates the pod - that this could indeed be it.

Ahem. It gets really bright and really cold.

Then of course you have to fight your way up into consciousness wake up in an expensive tub of Duvolle goo and have to sign a bunch of release forms and stuff - I won't go into the gory details.

After that you wander new eden for a while collecting some assets to convert into new equipment - you could cry at this point, but it wouldn't help and you're not that much of a pussy.

The Megathron that killed you wasn't even really trying; 425mm IIs don't forgive inexperience. Second guessing it all is of course what you have to do, but it doesn't matter in the long run. The malfunctioning Celestis autopilot doomed you from the start.

. . .

So you wander the concord protected regions of the Federation for a while. Every time you have to pass through low-sec you get that feeling again - the dread combined with the overwhelming urge to run.

Hell, it goes on like this for a while. Too long, really.

Until one day you park the PVE megathron and reactivate your old replacement Celestis. The slots are crammed full of EW gear, the XR launchers loaded with anger at being the prey for so long, Ghoul energy siphons lying in wait for their first taste.

And so it begins. The lock engages as soon as you're fully out of the warp tunnel and the victim almost targeted you back before the first missiles hit. All that pent up frustration at being the victim comes pouring out, and you don't even have time for the MWD to disengage before you've got your first kill.

Welcome to EVE.

Very nice piece, and so, so true.

aww did someone get pod kill and whines and makes a blog about it /me hands a tissue for an issue... I like my eggs scrambled.

So, you decide not to be the begin man. But to show us that you really are just a fat fuck?

anonymous·

Opps wrote begin instead of bigger.

#3, perhaps you should just read it as an EVE-Chronicle type piece.

#4, there's no need to care. It's obvious he took it the incorrect way.

In regards to the story itself, very well written. Well done.

Truth is simply there, you live it and then you make it live to others. Eve is a simple circle of experience transfering itself in a imaginary world where we us living stand while our true Fuk life gets bash by media and stupid war created by our own.

Give this game to the tier world and we would see a freaky pop-up of pirates like you never seen before...

I would argue that this is one of the best posts on this site in a while, short, brutal and well written.

Bingo! I think that you just won the prize.

Seriously, though: The cyclical nature of our hallowed profession should be apparent to everyone.

The oppressor becomes the oppressed becomes the oppressor.

This is how eve is, not even should be, just is. Now as for the parking of that megathrong, that would have made a better PvP ship then the Celestis, but that me.

"Don't Ever Fly Anything You Can't Afford To Lose".

Celestis = 1

I'm really sorry, but not nearly as sorry as you. I reccomend re-reading the story.

God I wish to be as cool as you one day; but at least I can read. Seriously, I think you only read half of it.

EatChocolate·

A story with depth. Nicely done!

Thanks.
