Some of you may have caught a recent story I wrote about Admiral Denzark and his wacky ways. It seems these folks have started to come out of the woodwork as of late. You also may have read about the threats I recieved from Darkside Moonshadow in my last story. She was the one who promised me death and destruction via her or someone she would hire or some uber bad corp that she was friends with. I call her bluff and she isn't so bold anymore... So I add them to my address book and wait for one of our current wars to end. Since Admiral Denzark quit his corp, we had an open spot so guess who is next....but before that, she convoes me and starts bragging. A lot. The CEO evemails me. Their first emails are usually happy and chipper. They laugh the threat of war off like a person swatting away a gnat. 2006.12.01 02:16 are you waiting for me to accept going to war? Because i have no interest in waring with you. A lot of CEOs seem to have failed math I think. Initially they balk at a surrender fee. They can always afford it since I am a cheap date I don't really ask for much. Still, they decline figuring it's a waste of money to pay for whatever reason. Then the war kicks in. First they play the "Haha I ain't afraid of you game". This involves them thinking since I am 15 jumps from the system I met Nexa, she can't find me here, no way, no how! I play my locator agent game and find them and kill them. Then they switch to the "running man game". They run 15 jumps away. We show up thanks to our friends with locator agents again. We pop and pod them again. Now they're down a good chunk of change to replace mods and insure pods and such. Then they try the "perma-dock" game. They figure we will get bored sitting in front of a station for hours on end. While it can get a little boring, it does enhance the kill you score in the end. You appreciate it so much more when you've waited 2 hours to get it. So now they've lost ships, they can't mine, and they can't mission run. Not with a certain degree of safety at least. So at this point between the money they lost, and the money they're losing from not being active puts them between a rock and a hard place of sorts. They can't make money, they can't afford the surrender fee because they took so many loses I don't know how many times I've had people ask to put their surrender fee's on layaway. I've done that a few times and it works ok but I try to steer clear of doing that. We ain't no Wal-Mart(tm). At this point they go insane. Calling names, threating to have other people come kill us, etc. What I really don't get is they will pay someone money to hunt us, but that ends up costing a whole lot more than the paltry sums I ask. Plus it's no guarantee we won't war dec you again. We never re-dec corps who pay the surrender fee unless they were to commit a hostile action against us. So this CEO pulls the same routine. "Haha, you won't win, I won't pay, you suck!" etc, etc.... I decide to head out to their corp HQ and find her hiding in a station. She just docked because there were still a few wrecks in several belts along with 50 giant secure containers so I think I just missed her. She is quite uninformed on how war dec's work. I can't say as I blame her, CCP should have a war tutorial. I wasn't sure what she was talking about when she mentioned "accepting" the war. I was thinking she meant if she refuses to believe it then it wont happen to her. Then I realized from her comments in local that she thought she had to accept the war in game like clicking "OK" in a trade window. Anyways...I continue waiting and see she has undocked. I wait a minute and do the same. After a quick scan I see them in a belt and warp in. As luck would have it, I land right next to her. They are in a Executioner. I am in an Ishkur. Needless to say, it wasn't pretty what happened to her ship or pod for that matter. I scoop up her remaining cargo and net about 3mil worth of loot actually. She was using those modulated lasers that are close in performance to the T2 lasers and some nice overdrive mods. That will fund the war for 2 more weeks. Funny how their own demise pays for 14 more days of potential death. A few minutes later she manages to make her way back to the system and dock. Dang that warp to 0km! :) She starts emailing me asking me questions on the war and things of that nature. As always I inform them there is no time for idle chatter, the only banter that will be entertained will be when they are ready to surrender and pay the fee. As you can see they are starting to get annoyed with the war already. It's not so funny when you lose a few mil, spend a few mil more to insure a new clone, and have to travel back to your HQ watching over your shoulder. Now you realize people mean business and that war is a mean business indeed. Sure it's only a game but it can get people frustrated, aggrivated and annoyed, myself included. So I try to think of what I would do in their situation. Personally, even when I camped in a station by a group of war targets I still look at it as a victory for me because I am basically forcing them to be there. Forcing them to police me so in a sense they are still losing money buying ships they might not normally need, and then camping me for hours, so they're not mining or missioning, which means they are losing money in that sense as well. Still though, you can see the range of emotions coming through her evemails and her comments in local....... I spoke with a GM when dealing with Admiral Denzark and the GM said he hadn't filed petitions on the last few email threats of him doing so. So who knows if she is serious. "Dear Sir and/or Madam, I would like to petition Nexa Necis for foul play, harassment, griefing, lying, cheating, stealing, killing, and being mean. I don't know them or what I did to them, but it's totally not fair that they can war dec me without me accepting it. Basically, it's illegal to do that and they're breaking the rules. They called me all sorts of names and said CCP sucked eggs too! I heard they run a slave trade out of China for ISK too. Honest. They even podded me. I think that I should be reimbursed for those implants as well as my nicely kitted Executioner, along with renumeration for mining time loss. Podding should not be allowed in high sec. "Dear Whiner, err Darkside, Thank you for your petition. At this time there is not anything we can do to help you at this point. No rules are being voilated at the moment. However we can give you some free advice. First, stop crying, wipe those tears so you can read this information..... 1. Don't brag to pirate corps how rich you are, especially when you're in a small non-pvp corp. It's like putting a wad of gum next to an ant hill. You will get devoured. 2. Don't make fun of people who war dec you as it will probably make them want to kill you even more. 3. Don't shield tank an Apoc for Pete's sake! Hull tanking FTW! 4. If you can't handle a pro-PVP MMORPG, may we suggest a single player game like Bejweled or perhaps Cakemania if you're feeling especially brave. 5. If you do decide to quit Eve, please take the $14.95 and buy a clue. Thank you and have a great day!" Another thing I noticed with the recent war dec's is a lot of people want to apply to our corp. Even though it's says only people 1 year old with pvp experience will be considered, people that are 1 day old apply. It cracks me up. 10 minutes after a war dec email goes out I get 2 or 3 applications. What are the chances? All of them are a few days old at most. All of them claim to be player with 1 account, yet they can afford to send me 15 emails answering all sorts of lame questions I pose and it costs them $100k an email. I don't know many 2 day old players who can rack up 2 mil without having an alt. I mean they convo me literally 10 minutes after they're created. Then you have some players who are 6 or 8 months old who ask if they can join. I still talk to them even though they don't meet the base requirement. But they can't follow simple directions like send me an email outside of the game with your character selection screenshot, skills screenie, bank screenie and list their play times, ship preference and specialties. What I end up getting is a screenshot of them in a station, with their buddies list open, and a sentence like, "Dude when can we kill ppl?! Hook me up! I am in the USA man!" If they can't follow some simple directions, then they ain't getting a spot in our corp. Ah, but I must digress as I am venturing off on a tangent here....Back to the alt applicants. Please don't even bother. If you want info, just ask. I will gladly tell you where I am at or what ship I am in. We have no real corp hangar so there is nothing you can steal either. So don't bother, just convo me and I can tell you what you want to know. :) So she quits the corp. Apparently her numerous alt accounts are good enough to keep her busy, so she flat out left her corp out to dry and broomed it. Her other corpmates followed suit once I popped them... Mind you, these are pilots as old as me, claiming to be PVP pilots...... Then their new CEO Ashir'o has various friends contact me to ask me to stop war dec'ing his corp. I say I will as long as he pays the surrender fee, which his friend is unwilling to do. So the war continues. And so does Darkside's insane chatter. Mind you I never answer her so she just keeps going and going...... And going... Meanwhile I am hunting Ashiro. As usual he laughs off the threat of war even though his corp is almost devoid of players. I will try and buy a battleship or BC tonight and see about encountering you next week. I get back into Ruchy within a few minutes with my Domi in tow and my corpmate in his as well just in case those pesky pirates in A4D tried to jump in. Of course, now he won't undock. So I sit outside in a shuttle waiting for him to agress me. Eventually he undocks and fires. I quickly dock and undock in my Domi. As soon as I do, he locks and fires. Great, he's flagged and can't redock for a minute. I open fire back of course. By this time, now there 3 or 4 people sitting outside the station watching. All of a sudden some moron in ASCN locks and fires. Poof goes his Crow. A few seconds later TSU SUM and someone else opened fire as well. One losing a Ferox and the other one I am not sure. So much for a fair fight. Thankfully the sentry guns were on the pirate's side for a change. Unfortunately my corpmate had technically difficulties and wasn't able to warp in to help in the fight. Thankfully, none was needed. Gotta love locking a pod and popping it in an unboosted BS. That's like a 12 minute lock time on pods. :) Well that about did it for Ashiro. He promptly quit his corp. Even though no fees were paid, we still got the job done. One of my favorite additions of the Revelations patch was the fact it shows corps as closed. Meanwhile after the fight, a few A4D guys start trying to bait my corpmate into fighting them and promising it would be a 1 vs 1. So who would be foolish enough to enage someone, tank sentry fire while fighting a Myrmidon and a T2 Snipathron, especially with another Snipathron cloaked 150km away. One of the funny things with their corp description seems to denounce smack-talk yet they readily engage in it. As I said, keep an eye out for my story on these people. It might turn out to be a good one. Oh and remember Fire Starter55, one of the smack talkers who brought war upon his corp? He couldn't take the heat either..... He was part of Omni-Death corp. They sorta lived up to the name as they all died at some point it seemed. :) So right now we have 2 wars in effect against Omni-Death and Draconian Legacy.
