All good things must end....at least it ended with honor

freaky·
Well my corp was getting bored with all of our war targets running and hiding and they were thirsting for blood. So I decided to give the Privateer Alliance a whirl. The premise it quite interesting to say the least. Basically you can come and go as you please, the only rules are no griefing alliance-mates and your corp must fund 1 war per week, which as you war dec'ing types know, can cost 50mil plus per week. We join and decide to finance a war with Miners With Attitude. I send off the 50mil and away we go with 11 active wars, with approximately 10,000+ potential war targets with only about 150 members in our entire alliance. What does fate bring....you might be surprised.......
The first day of the warring starts out great for me. I snag someone on AP in a newb ship. Popped the Velator and his pod. A few minutes later I chase down a Mammoth. He warps to a stargate but I don't know which one as there are 3 overlapping. I take a guess and guess correctly. Pop goes his ship and pod, and into my pocket about 35mil in loot, with about another 40mil poofing with the wreckage. Then this morning I log in for some hunting. I get in a gang and we pop a lone Blackbird and scramble his egg. No good loot worth mentioning. So I return home from work, anxious to find some action. Everyone I find appears to be docked and afk for the moment. Then I run across a Myrmidon with my alt. I was in my Rax and knew it wouldn't be up to the task to take on such a fine ship with T2 gear so I run to get my Domi. As I was getting my Domi, he was getting more friends. Can you guess what happened next? You won't believe your eyes....... Actually, you probably do believe your eyes. I died. Yes. Can you believe it? Guess what? I also got podded. No more bounty. I feel so naked. Please donate to my bounty. It's cold here where I live and I need bounty to keep me warm. So I hope this helps dispel the myth I only engage miners and n00b corps when I have the advantage. Prior to this fight I engaged a Caracal while 2 other WTs were in system. I was taking a chance. When I warped to the gate just before I jumped over, I saw a scout decloak from warping away. I knew there would be people waiting for me on the other side of the gate. 2006.12.13 06:02 Victim: Nexa Necis Alliance: Privateer Alliance Corp: The Really Awesome Players Destroyed: Dominix System: Kaaputenen Security: 0.8 Involved parties: Name: FuryMan (laid the final blow) Security: 3.6 Alliance: Dusk and Dawn Corp: Einherjar Rising Ship: Brutix Weapon: Heavy Ion Blaster II Name: Mistress Suffering Security: 3.1 Alliance: Dusk and Dawn Corp: Einherjar Rising Ship: Myrmidon Weapon: Ogre II Name: Waaztinques Rich Security: 4.3 Alliance: Dusk and Dawn Corp: Einherjar Rising Ship: Ishkur Weapon: Ishkur Name: General Minos Security: 1.7 Alliance: Dusk and Dawn Corp: Einherjar Rising Ship: Blackbird Weapon: Bloodclaw Light Missile Name: Master OlavPancrazio Security: 2.2 Alliance: Dusk and Dawn Corp: Einherjar Rising Ship: Crow Weapon: Bloodclaw Light Missile Name: WarMakerX Security: 2.5 Alliance: Dusk and Dawn Corp: Einherjar Rising Ship: Raptor Weapon: Raptor Destroyed items: Large 'Accommodation' Vestment Reconstructer I Praetor I (Drone Bay) Medium Nosferatu I Radioisotope Kinetic Hardener I Tracking Disruptor I 425mm AutoCannon I Wasp I (Drone Bay) Praetor I (Drone Bay) Radioisotope Thermic Hardener I Tracking Disruptor I Warden I (Drone Bay) Ogre I (Drone Bay) Depleted Uranium M, Qty: 31 I fly cheap so it's not really much of a loss at all. I was actually smiling about it. It reminded me of when I first got into PVP. It's not like you're afraid to die per se, but when you rack up a long streak of wins, the threat of loss looms over like a dark cloud. It's inevitable. Once you die, the cloud is lifted. Especially when you go down in a blaze of glory in a firefight like this. I'll admit getting your T1 frig ganked by 15 AF's wouldn't lift the cloud much, but a fair loss like this definitely does. There was a little smack talk from someone in their gang to my alt in the next system, making fun of him. That's the only smack though. The rest of the people seemed quite nice. I convoed the pilot who got the final blow to offer congrats on collecting my bounty as it was certainly a lot more than they got from my basic loot. This has been a fairly rough week for my corp. I think we are leading the killboard in overall corp loses hehe. Still it's a great learning experience for all my guys, myself included. Still it doesn't keep me from hoping back in the saddle.... 2006.12.13 06:51 Victim: Scaraith Baal Alliance: Interstellar Starbase Syndicate Corp: Rogue Elements Destroyed: Arbitrator System: Tash-Murkon Prime Security: 0.8 Involved parties: Name: Nexa Necis (laid the final blow) Security: -0.2 Alliance: Privateer Alliance Corp: The Really Awesome Players Ship: Vexor Weapon: Vespa II Destroyed items: Medium Nosferatu I Tracking Disruptor II Light Armor Maintenance Bot I (Drone Bay) Light Armor Maintenance Bot I (Drone Bay) Light Armor Maintenance Bot I (Drone Bay) Light Armor Maintenance Bot I (Drone Bay) N-Type Explosive Hardener I N-Type Thermic Hardener I Fleeting Propulsion Inhibitor I I got this as I was writing this. I noticed the pilot docked and undocked so I figured he was out looking for war targets. I initially grabbed a Thorax, but had to redock when I realized I had a shitty setup, so I grabbed my Vexor, which I then realized had a shitty setup. I still won in the end though. Made about 15mil in loot from the kill as well. I just wanted to show everyone that yes, we do lose. When we do lose, we do it without grace because we are not the best PVP'ers in the game, but at least we fight with great sportsmanship, and die with honor.

Very nice indeed, if i wasn't in such a great corp right now i would definitly want to join your corp. Lots of action and lots of targets to satisfy my aggressive playstyle.

Grats on your first podding, may there be many more ;)

Best regards

So I hope this helps dispel the myth I only engage miners and n00b corps when I have the advantage.

lolz...

u didn't 'engage' the multiple targets... u got GANKED!

MinithJin·

Actually I know what freaky means, I often engaged in fights where I knew I'd be outnumbered back when I was simple pirate, if you lost it felt ok since you were so clearly outnumbered, but if you won the satisfaction was huge :)

i am annoyed because am bored with waiting but am 3 month old now and things are looking good
