Entirely non eve-related, but I have to write this off =(
I've had diabetes (type 1) for about 10 years now, but it wasnt until recently that I noticed small changes in my vision. It looked exactly like when you've looked into a lamp for far too long and see a bright remaining spot. Usually those spots fade and disappear within minutes or hours, in my case it didn't. It only became a little smaller and the brightness faded somewhat, but it was still there. This started some weeks ago, and a few days after I had first seen it I went to the (on-call) doc. She (the doc) saw a small spot where I had described the spot to be (upside down on the retina, cause of how the lens and focus in the eye works).. ok, I pretty much knew it was some sort of retinopathy associated to my diabetes.
Retinopathy is a word for when you have small bleedings on your retina. Pretty much only the severity which changes and what it's caused by (doesnt have to be diabetes).
So, today came the dreaded day when I was going to do the full checkup.
Bad news =( Turns out my eye which I saw the changes on in my vision had far less spots than my right eye. Additionally, the spots are very close to macula .
I can only hope it wont detoriate rapidly, but it's probably bound to happen sometime. Which means Im in the riskzone of getting worse eyesight + losing my reading capability (focus vision).
Any eyespecialists in EVE want to take a shot at how severe it is? ;) I'll send you my eyebottom-photographs (jpeg).
I bet ya, it's karma coming back to hunt me for all those podkills!
Now where is my A-grade IRL-clone?

Take care of yourself dude!
I think maybe you should stop playing EVE at least for a little while, sorry to say but from what youve said I cant see that staring at a screen is gonna do any good :(
I will put in a buy order for new eyes for you sir. :)
I feel for ya Ander, lost sight in my left eye for a couple days from an injury (totally fine now, thanks to God). To have a permanent condition is shitty, stay strong and take care man.
Jesus man, that really blows. I wish I knew something about eye-conditions to offer you some hope. I'll just have to wish you the best of luck.
A pirate who believes in karma? Haha, never heard of it! :)
But really, try laser surgery, I've heard it's all the rage these days.
yah, laser surgeries do amazing things these days.
Take care!
Dude that blows, although it is expensive can corrective laser eye treatment not help?
ps - can i have your carrier?
Hey! I never post here and I never talked to you but I really hope your problem is solved asap. I really know how you can feel in those moments.
Your EVE stories are too funny to be lost :)
Man, sorry to hear that. I can only say that I will pray for you and wish you the best of luck.
Damn... That sucks with a capital S.
Take care dude... Would be a shame to see you go :-(
Good luck with that dude, get well soon :)
Sorry to hear that dude. My father has/had exactly the same problem, he went to few laser treatments and it worked, he stoped the deteration completely but its hard to get your vision back to normal. I whish you the best of luck.
loool
GOD SAVED YOU
Hey Ander
Get well you tool, don't go doing this on me. We still need to ride out the apocalypse together and hold hands as eve dies.
Best of luck finding treatment bro, take it easy on your eyes ya hear?
xxx 'joi
Sorry to hear about this. As someone mentioned above, laser is doing wonders on the eyes. Hope there is a solution to fix your problem
Wish the best of luck with this situation.
Yup, easy on the eyes, no more looking at enjoi :P
Laser treatment (scatter or grid) usually works to prevent total loss of sight. Though my problem is with the focal view, since I've had some bleedings which are very close to the centre of my focus view.
I'm just hoping somehow that I can stop the deteriation and improve the current situation by keeping stricter control on my diabetes.
that sucks man, the diabetes and all. my grandfater has diabetes, and he can barely do anything with his life. im really sorry to hear about this man. hopefully they have a treatment to help you out, like that laser stuff. i heard the amarr are pretty good at it tho. heck, lemmi get my harb and ill try it out for like, 500 iskes
Yargh, I come to the site to see hows things and see this news :/
Sorry to hear it Ander and I do hope it sorts itself out / slows down.
Ouch, At least my problem is with the muscles, And blindness will only take me when Im 39-46, and Im 13 and can get it fixed by then, but you condition is more sever:/. Really, go for laser eye surgery, keep your vision.
get better ander, or barring that at least get worse extremely slowly
I wish the best of luck to you Ander.
You are obviously a very talented person IRL, and you have not let such things stop you yet. Keep up the good fight.
On a side note, I love the cocksuckers who voted on his story and gave him negative karma. Pricks.
Just read your post M8. Hope everything gets better for you soon!!
