My first month in Veto has been an absolute blast. I've achieved a number of firsts. First solo kill, first ransom, first pod kill. My sec status has plummeted from a healthy 1.0 to a -8.4, and I've had my share of newbs moments, great finds, and seen my wallet grow far past the threshold of my carebearing days.
To start, lets just say it got hot down home. Blobs starting forming in our tranquil little home, so many members of Veto decided to take a road trip to escape the heat. Our first day down there the guys caught a Megathron in a belt. Scrammed, webbed, and going down, the pilot ejects from his ship. Our guys pick it up and find it rigged and T2 fitted. Later, they sold the guy his ship back for 300mil. Nice catch.
I picked up on our jaunt a few days late and headed down. In order to safely escape the blobs I took my shiney new toy, the Enyo, out for a spin.
Once I get down there I get together with a few of the guys and we find that there are a ton of mission runners in the system. So we start probing people out. We probe a Raven, but the guy was in deadspace and sufficiently out of warp scramble range and managed to get away.
Disheartened, we jump back a few systems and our prober finds an Omen sitting in a safe. At the same time our FC scans down a Merlin and an Ishkur at a planet. My mate in a Wolf and I warp to the Omen and blow it up. The pilot obviously logged with agro as he offered no resistance and his pod warped right off.

I think we all cried a bit inside at the loss of the Fleetng Propulsion and the TS nos, but it was easily made up by the pilots reaction to the lost ship. The pilot evemailed one of our members complaining about his ship loss. Our corp member sent this back.

Laughter erupts on Vent. It honestly made my day. Satisfied, I logged myself off.
But the best part of the road trip was the following.
About a week ago one of our members spotted a Machariel missioning. Unfortunately only one member had a probe ship down he, and he disappeared for a bit. When he came back, he managed to probe the Mach. Major props to him as he had to navigate 100km of wrecks to get us in range of the Mach pilot.
Anyhow, I logged in and found myself in the thick of assembly to take down the Mach. We all rushed to a gate two jumps out, our prober notifes us that the Mach is on the last three BS. We all jump in immediately and rush towards the next gate. One battleship left we're informed.
We jump into system just as he finished off the last rat. Immediately we all warp in and get points, and take him into hull. The guys asks in local for a 300m ransom. Our FC opens convo and asks for 500m. After what seems like an eternity, we get the ISK. As I warp out I wonder why the ransom was so high. I ask on Vent.
"Hey was that a faction BS we ransomed?" Several guys reply, "Yes."
"Oh... I thought it was a Maelstrom." A giggle fit ensues on Vent. Until just then, I'd heard Maelstrom, not Machariel, so naturally I was curious about the high ransom.
To add butter to the bread, the guy convo'ed Verone about the cost of us blueing them. While he was in conversation, his Machariel got blown up by Privateers. The Privateers we spoke to we're more than happy to listen to the details of our earlier ransom and left us with this tidbit of info. The Mach had six warp core stabs fitted. What a shame. :)

welp, that was fun. and yes, i did scew up badly there.... but at least i only lost a few implants, my only ship. but otherwise, it was all good
Some do alot for implants, and some times the losses are great, actually It was worth it to save the implants, however maximum respect to the resale. Its the little things like that which restore some faith in the Eve massess.
Without a killmail to prove it, I really doubt that the machariel had 6 warpcore stabs fitted. He'd have to fit a LOT of sensor boosters to be able to even target any rats, and even then he'd have no slots to tank said rats with. I think it's more likely that they just found 6 warp core stabs in his can, probably picked up from rat loot.
Could be, or perhaps the Machariel pilot was fitted for travel, as they ganked him at a gate.
