My First Bounty Hunter

MirrorGod·

Having completed a fourth addition to my promotional In Ur Eve campaign, I decided to turn on corp comms and see if there was anything viable to kill. Local was empty, which was a bit disappointing, but now I was hearing about multiple neutrals next door in Daran "Hmm, might have some goods after all" I thought. Jumped in and ran the usual scans, but what I found was disinteresting, a hurricane hugging the docking ramps and a Trit worker interceptor on the same 5 degree, most likely buzzing around him. Not too promising. On a whim I decided to move up the pipe, perhaps I'd find a ratter further up. Next door, the bloody red expanses of Pananan were devoid of any such targets, so I pushed on to the dead end low-sec, Gademam. 1 local...

Apoc, on the gate with me...

"Ah hell, why can't he be in a belt?" I thought out loud over comms, glaring at the sentry guns above. Just as I was relaying my presumably fruitless find to the soldiers and setting my camera drones on the battleship, small slivers of red light glanced at the shields of Bloody Fist, my trusty Harbinger. "No way! He's attacking me"

Suddenly the adrenaline I'd been waiting for started coursing through my veins. I kicked the harbinger into orbit and my lasers went to work devouring his shields. "Somethings not right, where's his damage?" I thought. A zoom in on it's hull was the answer, he was packing medium guns, and for some reason they weren't even hitting.

"He's hit half armor" I announced on comms.
Two more soldiers were on the way, crusiers however, so they wouldn't be able to agress on gate. None the less they wouldn't miss it, the bloodlust was alive and we all knew it.

"Quater Armor" I said with a grin "and he's still agressing, but it seems like he's aligning..." he was, I confirmed it and began a full speed approach to attempt to knock his alignment.

"He's warped off...to station" I said as the gate activated and Razor's Stabber materialized in space. "He's still agressed, moving to engage"

Sure enough, he was there, probably desperately requesting docking rights. I reengaged but once again he warped off to a stargate.

This continued for a few more warps, I'd chase him down, chew at his armor, he's warp off and repair it, but not before reaggressing me each time. That was the good news, the bad news was that my Conflagaration crystals started to burn out, not good.

We'd got our break, a quick working of the directional scan revealed he'd parked the golden punching-bag in a belt. Relaying his location to Razor, I initiated warp.

The asteroid belt appeared around me as the overview pinged in a BS class neutral; "There she is" I laughed just seconds before my allies stabber and caracal screamed out of warp.

"Point" was the word. Again we initiated our orbits and started pounding, he chose the stabber as his target this time and never landed a hit as it darted around him at little under a kilomter per second.

"Structure" I announced and soon it was all over. The wreck was decent even if the fitting was abhorrent, a named BCU worth about 5 mil, 2 arbalest standard launchers along with some ammo. No disrupter, no web. Kill mails revealed a stabilizer was fitted as well as 4 Heavy Modulated Pulse, which was a pity since they were worth a decent amount.

I finally pulled up my defeated targets bio. Apparently his corp is one of Bounty hunting. Explained why he agressed me...but let's just say he has ALOT to learn.

I relaxed as I scooped the last of the loot and set destination back to HQ. It's been a good week, 1st day we clone jumped up I nailed 10 kills including a Deimos. Today's apoc kill was in addition to an downed Ishkur.

In closing, bounty hunters are welcome in the mentioned systems. Do be sure to leave your warp core stabs at home, they won't save you.
