I've been lurking on Eve Pirate for the past 6 months or so, reading the articles and wondering why nothing awesome ever happens to me. Finally I can contribute, with this daring tale of just how stupid a so called "macro hunting" alliance.
First, a little background. I'm a member of Darkness Inc, an Empire piracy corporation. We're somewhat akin to TRAPS in several ways, most noticeable in the way that we choose targets for war declarations i.e. for the amusement of seeing them continue with their tirade of endless whining. In some cases we actually get corporations that fight back or are hired to attack us, such as Repo Industries o/. We make do though, and Sobaseki is the 5th dangerous system in Empire for a reason :D.

On Monday, a corp mate was out looking for miners to harass. Warping into a belt, he passes by a character named Yorlock in a Hawk. He strikes up in local at the presence of our Punisher pilot. Here's the chat logs from local:

And i am sorry if asking him to go pirate someone else was 'insulting'. YOu need to know what your members do... Damn, I wrote this a while ago. A lot has happened since then. livfree joined Goonswarm and was kicked for oversmacking the enemy and leaving his friends to die. We then had the privelage of hearing his announcement that he was going to declare war on BoB. Haven't really seen him since then.

I will read the story, but I suggest you edit it and put the bulk of it in the extended body section. That way it doesn't take up the entire front page.
Honestly, I couldn't really make sense of most of it.
The chat excerpts are way too long and I was struggling to understand who was who. I couldn't really tell which people were your corp and which were the other corp.
Some of the chat logs should be prefaced with a small explaination/update and put the chat in bold.
I am not trying to be overly critical, but I have seen good stories gone bad because of lackluster editing and a poor layout. Though I could just be retarded and not making sense of it is my own fault.
That being said, no I am not an English teacher in RL. :)
Anyways.....
PHPR is a good guy and so is Mongwen. They are actually some of the more helpful and friendly guys I've met in Eve and I've always had a good experience whenever dealing with both of them.
I could be wrong here, as I said, I struggled to make sense out of the wall of text, but the Anti Macro guys might need to clean house and get rid of some players.
I hope you guys are able to work something out though.

Yeah, first time writing here, and it's a little late for me to do anything about it now. I'll fix it some time tomorrow hopefully, as well as get a ton of that into the extended body section.
I will say that PHPR was a great guy. We came around and pretty much ended the war after that amusing evening. Mongwen not so much. He didn't seem to want to talk nicely to any of the corp, so I'm making opinions on face value, but then again, I may be wrong.
Once again, apologies for the wall of text. I make art, not text, and it's a little daunting at first.

The war got eventually cancelled by Concord because not a single shot was exchanged for a few days. All he did was hiding in random lowsec systems, while his buddies were travelling cloaked all day long...

Ummm - I'm sure you're not the reason that Sobaseki is rated as a dangerous system. Don't Racketeers operate out of there too, and didn't they beat you in a war not too long ago?

Ah, my first troll. Yes, Racketeers do work in Sobaseki, but do not have much of a presence there some of the time. On the other hand, DKI live there, and there is always an active presence, be it new members plying the belts or some of the veterans looking to chill. War? Perhaps, although I remember it being somewhat of a stalemate. That said I was not a member then, and no longer am any more. As a final note I will point out that I never actually said that DKI was the reason for Sobaseki being the 5th most dangerous system. There are lot of contributing factors that make it so, and DKI are but a large cog in that mechanism.

Re. story - potential for some good content. However, if I wanted to read eighty screens of chatlogs then I already have them - extracts would be good. And pictures. simple "trolls" like me like pictures :)

Have to say, interesting story, but freaky is right, wall of text = bleeding eyes. I got enough figured out that no good pew pew happened and reinforced the fact that this game is full of idiots. I do look forward to hearing more stories from you, freaky doesn't give me nearly enough to keep me occupied all day at work on the weekends. =P
But yes, on a side note, I have known PHPR for quite some time in game, great guy, glad he has a good rep with him. Though he is no longer with that macro hunter alliance (joined M.Pire), so I don't get a chance to chat with him to much anymore.

The fact that you are posting behind an alter ego really contributes to your failure to constructively criticize. In that comment you came off as just as much a twat as livfree and him in the story. To effectively describe something of livfree's magnitude you really need to use chatlogs to bring across the emotions of how we felt and our reactions to what he said. After all, that's what Eve is about isn't it? User interaction. Yes there was a lot of swearing and general insults being thrown around, but that can happen to anyone. Sure, it may be very blunt and to the point (in some cases perhaps not needed), but as my good friend Haargoth says, you really had to be there. This piece isn't the most eloquent because of that.

You can't use "You had to be there" as an excuse. What's the point in posting a story on a website when you needed to be there to get it, where everyone who reads it wasn't there. Actually I can. I'm not a master of communicating through written work, so I can claim that you had to be there. I cannot convey the emotions that we felt in such a manner that they will transfer to you. In regards to why did I post it? I felt that the Eve Pirate community would find it at least a little amusing, even in it's raw, unformatted state. Whilst the language used may have had a negative effect on your reading experience, you are not everyone. Whilst the language is a little heated on both sides, most of us are utter hypocrites that don't really think about the consequences of what we write at the time. Not everyone in Eve is a well mannered, decently speaking person in Eve all the time. Stop trying to press the classification where it isn't needed it. You didn't like the article. Well I'm sorry for that. However, the rest of the community has been able to see past the article's faults and look to the core values and points being made. Your inability to do that is only something which you can correct.

Okay, so Livfree does seem to be a bit of an idiot and I was enjoying the read right up to the point Haargoth joined...
He was abusive, threatening and foul right from the start. I ended up disliking him more than Liv. All that 'I'll get you perma banned, I know devs, I'm a BOB alt...'. You should be careful about saying that sort of thing. To be honest you should breathe a sigh of relief that Livfree is a fool, anyone with half a brain would have petitioned Haargoth right there.
All in all, not a good read.

Yorlock is a mission whore...When he gets annoyed form farming faction items he comes sometimes to oimmo or other systems kill rats in belts (yes the frigs) and leaves items in wreck behind. when a newbie with salvager comes to salvage and take items from wrecks get usualy podded by yorlock in his faction fitted assault frig.

My corp and I have had dealings with livfree before. He basically talks mad smack like crazy and suicides his ships into you. It's hilarious. My group met him when we used to pirate in Carrou (belt piracy).
He's get jumped in a belt, die, talk nonsensical smack in local for 30min, then leave and come back 30min later in another ship and die.

lmfao... ive killed livfree at least 7 times... i always tell him i want to join his corp after i kill him and he is like okay i respect you because your a stoner, and then i go pirating with him them i kill him... now he says i dont have respect... whatever :P, yeah corwain and i have opened a rape fest on livfree

lol, i like the story, but to be fair some of the comments are..... interesting as well. all in all a good read.

Ah, the great Yorlock. The guy is a prick. He got his Harpy blown up in Piekura a while ago and cryed Exploit for ages.
The Corp I was in at the time was war decced by them because I dared to tell him to stop whinging.
That whole miner macro corp thing are a bunch of fannys.
