basic highsec storyline
im messing around belts killing rats mianly to check item spawns in differing regions
i hit a belt in Khanid wipe it scan etc you know the usual stuff
about half the way through the belts in this system
(name of system ommitted for the other pilots sake)
I drop in on a a Jet Canning Miner
now we know the jet can rules we set ourselves
1) Ignore it
2) check to see if macro
3) if viable take and sell
4) teach the person on the other end to buy a SECURE CAN!
thats the bit that annoys me most, belts are STREWN with secure cans you think other miners would realise this! but alas no oh well (rant done)

I scoot over take from the can drop and pop
since i cant hold enough to make good money, the ore is scordite
and shooting his hours and hours of ore will make him even madder
no response
I warp away and clear the belts
Drop back in on my bookmark and repeat the procedure thinking "Come on man shoot me!"
i get a convo, its clear soon hes not very... shall we say awake?
he threatens
he locks
he then drops 5 t1 hammers

Theres a few moments of sheer terror when i realise something
Bcs' have big cap..... and i have a warp scram
He's locked down Scrammed & Nos'd
i pop the drones slowly getting their compliment down to 2 before he pulls them back and pegs it
Damn my slow tank! xD
15 minutes later hes back mining
i power over again and notice a second entry has joined the cat box
this newcomer simply says "Stop or die"
i check the overview..... theres an abbadon from another corp 120 km Up wind the belt...

Since when do warp scramblers work like ECM ?
since when does a punisher have trouble with a mining fitted harbinger...
to be honest with you i have no idea
i was near dead and this was before the nos nerf so either id fethed up his cap REAL bad or it was a 7.5km warp scram?
since the punisher pilot was playing as a 14 day trial at the time and that was his first ever BC pvp encounter in any sec space. =P

Just a pointer to those that don't know about secure can vs jetcan mining. When a miner gets up in skills she can pull 4000+ m3 of ore per cylcle (3 minutes). Mining into a secure can is of little point or value.
Really what a high sec miner of this calibre ought to be doing is using another character to sit there in an indy and take all the ore transferred via a jet can before it can be stolen. They could also use a giant secure can to transfer to be totally secure.
So yeah, pretty much if skilled miner wants to mine alone they need to warp to station every 3-6 minutes or they risk using a jet can. It seems as if CCP have designed the game to be very risky for solo miners.
