My first 3 days

Khanya·

Hello, allow me to introduce myself.

I am Khanya and i am very new to our EVE world.
A few days after i finished my training in my Amarr homeworld i grew sick of all that religious stuff and silently escaped to Minmatar space. Those are great people in there, much like the ancient vikings, but in space!
After one week of further training in Minmatar ships and weaponsystems i finally made the decision to leave everything and begin my new life as a security advisor. So i bought a cheap Rifter with even cheaper equipment and off i go.

Day 1 My first target audience was the mining population. It was very tedious to find a proper student. Most of the miners use either huge ships to directly haul their ore or they have some (for me) scary drones buzzing around! But after a few boring lessons with frigate fighter i finally found THE student. He was sitting in a Receiver mining his precious ore into a jetcan. And his drones helped him! So i did some highly complicated math and concluded that only one drone would be able to defend him against me. This is of course something we cannot allow in empire space. It really would attract too many pirates. So it was my job to teach him this lesson and i quickly swapped all his ore into my own can. Now the fun part began. In his anger he ordered his remaining drone to kill little me. He had 1 minute to regret this step as i slowly deconstructed his ship. As this was my very first real combat i was really very nervous and my hands were shaking so i wasnt able to contact him to tell him the actual price of this class. Instead i decided i would just take the remains of his little miner. This one was very quiet. He didnt even thanked me for this lesson :) Victim: - Alliance: NONE Corp: - Destroyed: Retriever System: Sarekuwa Security: 0.9 Involved parties: Name: Khanya (laid the final blow) Security: 0.0 Alliance: NONE Corp: Imperial Academy Ship: Rifter Weapon: 150mm Light AutoCannon I Destroyed items: Strip Miner I Warrior I, Qty: 4 (Cargo) Residual Survey Scanner I Mining Laser Upgrade I Mining Drone I (Drone Bay) Mining Drone I (Drone Bay) (yay one strip miner for me) Day 2: After i sold the strip miner from yesterday for more than my rifter plus equip is worth, i decided to do some more dangerous actions. So i set course to these mythical outer regions called "low sec". After a few jumps i found a guy who possibly could need a class in "how to - when Concorde cant help you". He was carelessly sitting with his Destroyer in a belt fighting some minor pirates. While this is of course a honorable avocation, it could attract more dangerous pirates. So i was glad i could show him how to do it properly. After i jumped in and went towards him, he completely ignored me (not a thing you want to do in an artillery ship). This of course let to his complete destruction as i had no time for diplomacy because there were some bigger threads roaming the region. So i tried my best to tell him how to avoid things like this. I hope he got the basics now.
Victim> :( Victim> hi
After that i went to another system where i found a citizen - 2 days out of the basic training- flying a Blackbird. He warped between the belts very quickly and the fact that i had been chased by an experienced incursus pilot didnt help either. So he left the system without me trying to teach him "proper ships to fly - for dummies". (i just saw him leaving local, that he wasnt destroyed i happened to know later) After this event i hunted some minor pirates for bounties while other people tried to train my reactions by jumping at me with their tech 2 frigates. Good training, thank you very much! A bit later i was a bit bored and looked out for another ... student. I only found a very experienced pilot in a destroyer. But after my previous experience with this shipclass and its careless owners, i decided to try my luck. victim > help, im getting attacked! That was embarrassing...with his age he should know to do better than this line, really. Nontheless he fought well and was fitted for close action plus his drone didnt help me either. After i finally managed to do some scratches in his armor, i was almost into structure. A little bit panicin i pushed some buttons and got lucky...his scrambler only had 7.5 km reach and he had no web module. So i managed to make a very lucky escape.
Khanya > huh that went well. sorry i didnt read your message in local (He asked for help for a named rat) "victim" > nub stab "victim"> meet you at statoin for a re-duel? pirate chasing me with incursus > Can you actually *blame* him for stabbing up around here? Khanya > yeah he almost killed me anyways :D "victim" > its full of pirates i hear Khanya > have you killed that BB or did he retread? pirate with incursus > Ran "victim" > he ran "victim" > very sad Khanya > shame "victim"> i even fitted a dessie to fight him
So this destroyer was meant for this mindless BB pilot, hmm. I kindly declined his invitation for a duel (it wasnt a duel the first time in my oppinion since this was not a agreed fight). Day 3 This day i found a interesting system. Most people in here just ran some hauling missions i guess (stupid macro farmers :(( ). I encountered one very annoying person in here. He was in a beginner ship mining carelessly some omber ore. Of course i showed him what would happen if some mean persons would appear here. But he failed the class, he just came back, mining again with free for everyone equipment. Very annoying, but i didnt want to loose all my security rating :( After some work with- well more against- minor local pirates it suddenly became very interesting. Two citizens entered the system that were just a bit older than me. (it was one person playing them both, i could tell by the names) And they set up a mining operation! Fantastic, i had some good experience with miners from my previous work. One person was mining in a frigate designed for this work and the other one was standing guard with a destroyer. I decided to test their abilities handling unexpected intruders. As i warped in and quickly tried to scramble the destroyer i must have made a mistake in my hustle. I think i activated the scrambler twice which resulted in no scrambler. So they managed to escape. But they left their can of course. So i just warped to a good observation point... And really, an industrial ship showed up. I quickly jumped at it at tried to ransom -i mean i tried to get my admission fee - after i hit structure. Unluckily this pilot had a strange perception of "ransoming":
victim > :( victim> please? :) victim > it's an empty ship... Khanya > 300k isk and ill leave you alone today victim > sure... victim > just let me repair before the rats get me Khanya > i am mean but i am honest victim> stop scrambling me... Khanya > 300k Khanya > its not much victim > no point in paying if my ship goes boom is there? victim > let me repair and I'll come back Khanya > ill leave your ship if you pay of course Khanya > time is up victim >ENGLISH MOTHERFUCKER; DO YOU SPEAK IT?
Huh? what a strange turn in his language. But luckily this was a quote from this famous movie...(figure out yourself :p) so it wasnt all that bad, but still uncalled for. Of course i blew this ship up, he sould have payed. Doesnt seem to be very effective. But since i has been damaged by a pirate cruiser and his frigate friend it was a very interesting fight. The best i have had so far even. Again, very nice guy, no curses. Where do you lot get those smacktalking persons? :D He even thanked me for the lesson.
Khanya > that was my first real fight Khanya > thank you for this victim > thank you for giving me valuable experience in mining Khanya > you seem to be a nice guy i am almost sorry for killing you :) Grindy > :P
conclusions: PvP is unbelievable funny in this game and very exciting! Although the grinding of security after it isnt too funny...But i dont want to loose my high sec passing rights right now, i have to be more carefull i think. Because i had to learn all racial skills from 0, i am lacking a bit of power, so i cant fight the more valuable targets yet and i rely on ratting bountys for this at the moment. But i think this will get better after some time. And after all...i could buy over 15 rifters with my fittings right now, so it still pays itself.

Man I wish I could find people like this in lowsec. Usually it is just gads of hauler mission ISK farmers and a few old experienced pirates in canes, drakes and t2 cruisers.

Miners in low sec??? Ye gods!

Lovely little story, read it with a smile on my face. Nice style you have there. The rifter is a superb machine and after all these years, I still fly it and get kills. I agree with Mik about the lack of miners in low-sec. If there were some ark or bist (in small quantities) it would bring peeps out.
