Dirty Work----Part 4 The Finale

freaky·
We're almost to the end folks. Just be sure to have read the entire thing in order. Starting with Part One then Part Two and then Part Three. Here's where I left off....... I r in yur allianze, spyin yur chatz! How does Nexa roll? Let my enemies fill you in.
Just the other night my guys had a 3 man gang roaming around looking for war targets. They spot a Crimson Rapier and Myrm. I was 20 something jumps away, but luckily I had a clone 3 jumps from the system they were about to engage in. So I jump clone and grab the Myrm I had stashed there. As I am headed to them, they report they have engaged and are proceeding to pop the Rapier. I was still 2 jumps out and they commence working on the passive shield tanked Myrm. Seriously the Myrm and Drake passive setups are plain ridiculous. I mean they changed NOS because it gave an advantage to a player with no side-effects at all. This passive tank is very similar. They need 0 cap to maintain a pretty crazy shield regen rate and can still dish out damage. You can argue that they are penalized with a smaller cap, but they don't need the cap anyways, so the penalty is moot. Now I am not complaining that people fit their tanks like that at all. It's understandable you would want the best tank you can get. I blame CCP for it. There is no way a 4 month old pilot in a passive tanked Drake/Myrm should be able to tank a T2 Gankathron 5 times longer than the same pilot in an armor tanked version of either ship. It's crazy! Anyways, so the Myrm pilot realizes he's not going to win, so he manages to MWD to the gate and jump over where me and another corpmate are waiting. We lock him down and he starts to MWD to the gate. He didn't fire a single shot and his drones never came out. We had him double webbed and started pounding on his shield tank. He wasn't getting back to the gate anytime soon. Our other guys jump over and join the shooting. Of course he complains about the odds. As always it's ok for them to field multiple ships against us and outnumber us, but when we do it, it's because we're weak and can't kill anyone solo. Oh brother. His shields get down to about 15% and he still hasn't fired and he is still heading towards the gate..... Notice anything funny there? Yep, logoffski just as his tank was about to break. Guess who has an alt with maxed probing skills? Me baby, me! So we were sitting in the system chilling for a bit and the Rapier pilot comes back and we say "GF except for the logoffski part". He says he doesn't understand what we're talking about. He at some point relays that message to the Myrm pilot and I log in the next day to see I have an email from the Myrm pilot. Someone has said, well multiple people of your corp have said that i am a dirty bastard for logging off during our fight that happened recently. I have come to tell you that i strongly dispute their comments. I did not log off! Logging off is the most cowardly thing a person can do. Its on the same level as not honoring a 1v1 in your corp, only much worse. A cleric will be podded and kicked out of his corp if he is found to do such a thing. My stupid computer crashed, that is why i did not finish the fight. i cannot tell you why but it was not a Crast to desktop, but the blue screen of death crash that requires a complete restart. Personally i would have loved to finish the fight. Why would i fight two of your corpmates and live just to log? I know that if you are scrammed, logged off does nothing. i would have loved to stay and tried to kill that wolf one more time and try to take someone down with me. Also, i would have escaped form my ship moments before death and warped away in my pod rather than log as i could have saved my implants, the cost of replacing the clone and the jump clone. i would not log, that is wrong. i feel cheated to not have been able to see my myrmidons tank finally broken. i wanted to know how many it would have taken and how long it would have lasted with 4 of you on me. I just do not want you to think i took the easy way out. i wish i could have gone down fighting. Pleause pass this on to your corp mates that i am not a coward and i look forward to fighting you again, even if i meet the same result. Please at keast respond to my message if at least only to say that you received and read it. Bigsam I call bullshit again. Here is why. My stupid computer crashed, that is why i did not finish the fight. i cannot tell you why but it was not a Crast to desktop, but the blue screen of death crash that requires a complete restart. Ok that is possible. However he did not log back in for at least 45 minutes. My computer takes about 3-5 minutes to reboot from a random crash, freeze or BSOD. That's a wee bit fishy it took his comp 45 minutes+ to reboot and log back into Eve.... jumping from system to system cause it to crash as soon as i tried to warp away to a station. Well he jumped into the system to help the Rapier pilot and he didn't crash. He jumped back into our system to get away and he didn't crash. If he's claiming he wanted a fight to the death, why would he MWD to the gate and not fire a single shot or release his drones? If he intended on fighting, then he wouldn't crash while warping to a station because, he would be fighting and not trying to escape. It doesn't add up. Why would i fight two of your corpmates and live just to log? I know that if you are scrammed, logged off does nothing Because your pod insta-warps and you have a chance of saving your implants. i would have loved to stay and tried to kill that wolf one more time and try to take someone down with me That would require him firing back and engaging someone. He never did. i would not log, that is wrong. i feel cheated to not have been able to see my myrmidons tank finally broken. i wanted to know how many it would have taken and how long it would have lasted with 4 of you on me. Hmmm all of a sudden he's happily willing to die to 4 of us to test his Myrm's tank yet in the screenshot you see him complaining that it's a 4 vs 1. C'mon now. i wish i could have gone down fighting. He could have but didn't, even before he "crashed" he was set on running because he never fired a shot and never launched any drones. I just don't buy his story. What do you guys think? I guess we can add logoffski tactics to Crimson's resume as well now. I was talking with one of the alliance members last night. He was telling me some inside stuff on the alliance. Quite entertaining to say the least. I had wanted to know, since Tiger claims he is a gallant protector of the weak and champion of the underdogs of Eve, and since they are supposedly an anti-pirate alliance, why is it this guys corp is engaging in ore theft and can baiting newbs? I mean it doesn't add up how Tiger can say he's protecting EMP, yet the rest of his alliance has people stealing from people and killing other corps like EMP, industry and mining type corps. I also found it odd that he is allowed in Sylph 0.0 considering Crimson are actively pirating against innocents. Sylph's policy seems to be the anti-pirate, NBSI type. I've never met anyone from the alliance personally, I am just getting that via their website. So needless to say it surprised me that they allow Tiger's alliance to play in their space while killing innocent miners and haulers and then jaunting out to Empire and harassing miners there as well. [ 2007.09.27 04:06:04 ] Nexa Necis > just wondering why youre still in the alliance when tiger claims Crimson doesnt do pirating [ 2007.09.27 04:06:59 ] Cranky Man > hmm....i havent heard that....as a matter of fact i was told it was ok to pirate [ 2007.09.27 04:07:08 ] Nexa Necis > funny [ 2007.09.27 04:07:29 ] Nexa Necis > cause tiger said he protects innocent people like emp from bullies [ 2007.09.27 04:07:40 ] Nexa Necis > yet i see you guys ore thieving and popping newbs [ 2007.09.27 04:07:41 ] Cranky Man > thats why we do it [ 2007.09.27 04:07:55 ] Cranky Man > we try to pop anyone [ 2007.09.27 04:08:00 ] Cranky Man > lol [ 2007.09.27 04:08:12 ] Nexa Necis > seems a bit hypocritical [ 2007.09.27 04:08:20 ] Cranky Man > well....you have a good point if thats true Cranky is actually one of the few people I like from that alliance. [ 2007.09.27 04:12:58 ] Nexa Necis > also [ 2007.09.27 04:13:04 ] Nexa Necis > you guys hang in Sylph space [ 2007.09.27 04:13:10 ] Nexa Necis > which Sylph is anti pirate [ 2007.09.27 04:13:21 ] Nexa Necis > conflict there in my book [ 2007.09.27 04:13:29 ] Cranky Man > lol...yep He also notices Tiger's propensity for smack talk. [ 2007.09.27 04:13:36 ] Nexa Necis > i have more quotes from tiger from alliance chat [ 2007.09.27 04:13:42 ] Nexa Necis > since he smack talks constantly there [ 2007.09.27 04:13:55 ] Cranky Man > i would agree with that [ 2007.09.27 04:13:58 ] Nexa Necis > your corp is mentioned in the story I think his corp has caught on to Tiger's clever ruse. [ 2007.09.27 04:15:39 ] Cranky Man > we were told we didnt have to chage our evil ways [ 2007.09.27 04:15:58 ] Nexa Necis > right cause hes using you [ 2007.09.27 04:16:33 ] Cranky Man > i would agree.....our complaint was we were doing most of the fighting It's true. He let them into the alliance because they said they were looking for some pew pew action. Tiger figures it's a good deal for him especially considering these guys are based out of TMP which is where we normally hang, so while Cranky's corp tries to kill us, Tiger and his friends do other stuff and use these guys as meat shields. He's in agreement that Tiger smack talks way too much. [ 2007.09.27 04:17:51 ] Nexa Necis > cause he knows hes caught [ 2007.09.27 04:17:58 ] Nexa Necis > i mean he smacks in local [ 2007.09.27 04:18:06 ] Nexa Necis > he smacks in alliance and corp chat [ 2007.09.27 04:18:10 ] Nexa Necis > he smacks on killboards [ 2007.09.27 04:18:17 ] Nexa Necis > every loss has an excuse [ 2007.09.27 04:18:21 ] Nexa Necis > every win has an insult [ 2007.09.27 04:18:56 ] Cranky Man > yes, that much i have read Tiger claims to be enjoying the war, but the rest of his alliance is not. [ 2007.09.27 04:27:27 ] Cranky Man > we asked tiger....just pay, get it over with,,,,he says nooooooooooo I firmly believe that given the chance most Crimson would dishonor a 1 vs 1 offer. Cranky confirms I am right. [ 2007.09.27 04:32:38 ] Cranky Man > and i threw a fit when they wanted to 1v1 you....but they were going to try to gank you... [ 2007.09.27 04:32:46 ] Nexa Necis > i believe it [ 2007.09.27 04:32:52 ] Cranky Man > i said i will have no part of it [ 2007.09.27 04:33:07 ] Cranky Man > they honor 1v1, so should we [ 2007.09.27 04:33:32 ] Nexa Necis > no shit I guess Tiger is still paranoid about spies in corp/alliance. [ 2007.09.27 04:40:40 ] Cranky Man > tiger is on fire about spies...lol A good idea would be to not accept members from EMP wouldn't it? Basic math right there folks. Tiger was nice enough to make a post in that phony TRAPS celebratory thread. What does he do? He says how he's gonna be kicking the rest of his industry corps out of the alliance. I wonder if he is refunding them ISK for the hassles he had them endure under his "rule". Frankly, I'm passed caring. Initially, the 'we hate Tiger' club was something that intrigued me, now I just expect the worst, and am usually pleasantly surprised. At the rate he is going he will have more members in his "We Hate Tiger" club than in his alliance. Also, officially, we will never, ever, surrender this war. Speaking for myself alone; I have 13 kills on the TRAPS pilots, and have suffered 0 losses. I started laughing at that one. He points out he has suffered no losses from us. He actually posted a recent loss, his first posted loss on his killboard. He's still short by probably about 50 though. So in 6 weeks of war he has 13 kills and 0 losses vs TRAPS. WOW! I have 40 kills and no losses. /me flexes Amazing though he's bragging about win/loss ratios and he's a total kb stacker, chat smacker, newb jacker, CEO slacker, bad RP actor and smells like craptor. I know that last one is not a real word, but it sounded good. Sorry. Freestyling is only trained to Level 1. Also, as an additional point, I would urge any enemy, who has been contacted by a CRMSN pilot to forward the chat logs to me, and I will remove them from the alliance. Weakness is something I will not tollerate. What purpose does that serve? Alienating someone from the alliance because they were civil to your enemies? WTF kind of show is he running? Why even have an alliance really? If you don't give a shit about anyone, why not just stay in a corp where you can focus on the most important people? Oh wait, you can't charge other corps to be a part of your corp. Got ya. Makes sense to me. Alliance creation for self-profit sounds like quite a good scheme(scam). How about a before TRAPS and after TRAPS comparison?
BEFORE TRAPS
AFTER TRAPS
That's all the goodies I have for now, but the war will continue indefinitely at this point. I'd like to thank all the TRAPS members without whom, half of this wouldn't be possible. They definitely keep me going and having a good time in this. I'd also like to thank the fine folks at REPO for helping out and having fun. Always a pleasure to fly amongst some of the best players out there. I have to thank everyone who sends me emails, convoes and shout outs in local saying that you enjoy our stories. I am constantly surprised that so many people read them. It's kind of cool to go 30 jumps out of Tash Murkon and have people recognize us from these stories and wave to us and say they enjoy them. Thanks a lot folks! I've got a few emails of people wanting to offer help against them. If you're interested in tagging along with us sometime, drop us a line. Some people even donated some cash towards the war fees which was much appreciated. Feel free to donate to it as well. All cash goes strictly to the war fees and decing their alt and splinter corps. I will keep them dec'd as long as I have the ISK in my account. Unless of course they wish to negotiate a surrender but I don't think Tiger would. After all, as long as he is ok, fuck everyone else. I would hope I dispelled a few myths about me and our corp. I mean you've seen these guys claim we don't fight honorably, we never fight alone, we only blob, we only fight weak targets, we're pussies, we're fags, we're lame and all sorts of negativity and they never even met us before this. Where is the proof? Where are the facts? I mean if you're the kind of player who values your reputation and character, your personal character, not your actual in game character/avatar, you should really treat others with the same respect you expect to be treated with. You can't go around talking shit about people for doing certain things then turn around and do the exact same thing yourself and act as if you're better than everyone else. You could do that I guess, and Tiger and his alliance does that, but how long until people see through your duplicity? How long until you're caught in your lies and bullshit excuses? Tigerfish, you claimed to be a gallant savior of EMP and a protector of the weak and defender of the underdogs. You took EMP's money and trust and betrayed them without a refund. You smack talked TRAPS from the get go, making claims that have all been proven to be wrong here and in stories prior. You are a dictator who plays for his own selfish needs without respecting or considering the rest of your alliance. You profit from these corps but do nothing to help them. You let them die needlessly due to your "pride" of being better than us. Yes we prey on weaker corps sometimes without reason. They get a warning from Concord. They are made aware of their options. We are up front about everything and completely honest. You also prey on weaker corps. Except the ones you prey on are looking to be part of an alliance with low sec access. You bilk them out of ISK to be a part of your alliance and give them a false sense of security and peace of mind. You do this underhandedly under the guise of helping them prosper when in reality, you're only helping yourself. I get the feeling the Crimson people will say I am a liar, that I am posting chat logs out of context, or that screeshots are doctored and all sorts of stuff. Feel free to post screenshots and chat logs of your own to rebut anything that I have said. Granted you do have some players who are on the level. They are good sports, they refrain from smack talk, they post their kills and losses, and they are genuinely nice to talk to. Unfortunately as we all know, if you're in an alliance with a bad reputation, you become stained or tainted by that rep to a degree even if you're not directly involved. I strongly urge the CEO's of the remaining corps left in Crimson to seriously consider relocating to a new alliance. One that will work with you. One that will deliver everything that was promised to you without charging you extra for it. I don't forsee Crimson changing their colors anytime soon. Don't let them drag you down with them. At the end of the day though, the facts will remain the same. Crimson alliance smack talks. They're unsportsmanlike. They lie. They scam. They pick on weak targets and steal from them. They make endless excuses. They use others for personal gain. They claim to be anti-pirate but are not. They stack their killboard. Their character is highly questionable and their reputation has been tarnished by their actions over the past 6 weeks. Should you want to rectify the situation we are willing to negotiate a surrender. You can feel free to convo me at any time.

Wow. This thing has been brewing for over a month now, and I hadn't even seen half the story. Well done Nexa on yet another fantastic story. Also, "mad props" to Crimson for bringing it. :)

Seth89·

As a Crimson member i would like to thank you for the information that you have given me about Tigerfish!!

I will be bring this up with my CEO (Chloe Esacalente) RIGHT AWAY!!!

I would also like to clear the air about TRAPS. For that I say that the TRAP corporation is one of the most (*HONORABLE*) corps that i have (*EVER*) seen in game you do honor 1v1's and you are very nice after a battle with NO smack talk!!!

As a member of SPB (Space Boarderline(or Cranky Man's corp)) I would like to say GOOD fight on the kills you have had on me and if you (*EVER*) need any type of help after we end this war or leave alliance please contact me!!!

Hans Gates [REPO]·

Nice story, I sure wish we could have continued with you guys!

Now, that tigerfish guy.... WTF is he thinking?

Awesome job on the details and persistence! Keep it up, fly safe and kill em' all

There are a couple problems here. Not from TRAPS but in their interprtation of a couple of events. First off ,and something Sam did not mention, is he plays mostly at work. So the restarting thing after 45 minutes is likely due to that. Second, he is not an experienced pvper so running is generally his first instinct, only when trapped or running is completely hopeless (which you fine cats made completely hopeless at that point) does he generally attack. third, seriously if i thought thats what he did i would pod him and throw his ass out. He has asked some of your corpmates for 1vs.1 which were honored so we ( Gramaton clerics) have some measure of respect for your corp. dont know much about the other instances you bring up with my alliance mates since you know my feelings about alliance "support" are clearly outlined in my chat screenshot about porn.

Wow. I really enjoy reading your stuff Nexa, and this really does top off all of your previous ones. Funny that you should mention Tigerfish. I'm going to send you some chatlogs of a channel that he RPs in. He starts whining and well...I'll let you read it for yourself.

Great job nontheless!

Riu Stuka·

Great story again, i liked reading it.

Setana Manoro·

What does "kb stacker" mean ?

Very nice story. I foresee a good feedback on it. :)

Ant·

Holy shit
Thank you nexa for this beautiful friday at work.:)

Scarlet Pimpernel·

EPIC! Most welcome as I'm having a slow Friday at work.

On a serious note though Freaky, fame seems to be getting to you a tad and you come across (even if you aren't) as overly concerned about how other members of the Eve community percieve you.

On that note I'd like to say "screw everyone else" those of us in the same line of work understand 100% where you are coming from and see the pages of the carebear playbook used day in and out and you don't have to convince us of your integrity etc etc

Those citizens of Eve that do need convincing probably won't ever be convinced because you are the 'bad guy' so you must be a lying cheating scumbag!

I had to lol when I saw Umokka mentioned in a chat log, now I know why I saw a bunch of your guys in our usual stomping ground :-)

Jonny Lumi·

Hmmm. As a total newb (under 3 weeks playtime), and a member of Crimson, this surely was interesting thing to read.

Thanks, 30 minutes of reading, and was worth it.

Ki An·

Well, you basically saved a boring Friday afternoon for me, bud.

TRAPS delivers once again.

/Ki

freaky·

It means that Tiger and his friends will post every single kill they make. However, they do not post all their losses.

So it makes it look like they are a super kickass alliance/corp/player.

Tiger shows 1 ship and 1 pod loss. If you look at the links I posted, you will see he left off quite a few losses inexplicably. In an effort to save his killboard image, he's willing to sacrifice his personal character.

freaky·

SP-

I am not concerned really. The people who are quality players with a small bit of common sense and intelligence know the score about us and if they don't they will learn quickly.

I just wanted to point it out here and address it because I found it funny all of the things they were claiming repeatedly were not true.

Like you said though, there will always be those people who say that crap because we're evil bully pirate scum. :)

Thzlou·

omfg =) this is teh shit! thanks for a great read :p

Mister Clock·

Thank you very much Nexa, you made my day :) very nice story, long read, but worth every letter.
I just cant believe that Tiger guy. And as answer to the question what he is thinking, i guess its safe to say: nothing at all ;)
Awsome job in keeping track of events too. Looking forward to your next story

Glorious reading; many thanks!

Res Tance·

Absolutely brilliant story, well written, and gripping too.

As one of the leaders of a low sec alliance it dismays me at how often people will stay in a corp/alliance that so clearly doesn't give them anything back.

Good job.

FowlPlay·

Thanks for the story Nexa, this made my friday!

Re: the fellas in that alliance all I can say is WTF?

Stellar job and presentation!

When is the next story coming? :-)

Excellent read and I have to say from having dealt with CRMSN before I do believe every word.

Keep up the excellent work.

Sounds like fun!

Another great story :)

Much respect for a great corp ;)

Very nice story Nexa, too bad I didn't get in on the fun a bit earlier. ;)

Big thanks to all the help Repo has provided us, and for inviting us along on some of their adventures. Always nice to have talented and respected pilots flying beside us lending a hand. 0/

I’d also like to thank my fellow TRAPS members. Because of their great support and commitment to integrity, I've had a very entertaining and rewarding experience with TRAPS thus far.

Here's to many more good fights (and stories!).

Bart·

LOL :)
Loved the story - even if I was featured as the idiot boob out in my hulk AFK when you popped me... :)

Regardless of others' experiences, you were honourable and true to your word in our negotiations.

Can't say enough how well worth the wait this story was. Kudos!

Thx,

Great piece. Nice writing and very familiar.
Crossed paths with Crimson previously with much the same experiences. Lol'd very much at the section on "they fight fair but u blob". So true :)

Keep up the fight, oh and where do i sign up to this 'we hate Tiger' club. Is there a monthly newsletter?

sucktastic·

Awesome account of events. I am still determined to someday play a part in Empire Wars like this. Everytime I read one of your posts Freaky it solidifies my destination in EVE. :)

Neo Rainhart·

Great story, props for the layout. Was easy to read.

Good luck hunting these guys o/

Neo.

Lix Titrax·

Top notch story Freaky, probably the best one you have ever done IMHO. You document these stories so well and managed to keep the order of events easily understandable, you have a lot of skill there m8.

Good hunting! I'm looking forward to the next story. :D

Huliganka·

Waaah! This is madness! madness?! this is Nexa's STORIES!

Alot fo thx to TRAPS, REPO and ofc nexa.
This kind of stories blow the winds in my sails, as i cant play eve much (at all).
those stories are so well written that you actually can feel that you are a part of it, like you was there in every battle and every chat... ahhh, genuine! The chronology, the details, the truth!

11/10 indeed.
Keep up the good work, and kill 'em all!

D·

wow o.O was reading till 6 am yesterday (well... today really :P)

Thats some fun read dude, looooooong, but fun :D I just luv it when those corps start fantasizing about 'militia' or 'SPECIAL pvp force' and plot out all those defense protocols and all the other overcomlicated bullshit. Just get a gang and fight alrdy ^^

APilot·

Very well written. Nice to see someone taking time to get screenshots and clip chat logs to avoid holywtfwalloftext :)

Keep up the good work.

Infinitynexus·

Yes indeed, a very good story.

Been flying with traps before, always remembering it being great deal of fun..

Khel'tar·

Great read as always. Funny when you see the camraderie of teh evilzor pirates and how greatly it eclipses that of some of those who profess to be carebears.

Props to those who took it on the chin, it's not always easy.

Krysta Gemme·

I just find it impressive that this story is so well documented, and that despite it being a video game tale, has the gripping undertone of a militaristic nonfiction novel.

This would have been a great short documentary film. :) As it is, I found it horribly entertaining, and it kept me up last night as I was trying to sleep.

It's a shame, that a corp could follow such a leader in my opinion. One who speaks openly, and as boldly as that. I think people stay in corps like that not for the CEO's, but of the good hearted FC's that lead them. The squad leaders, the mates who helped them directly.

As a soldier in the Army, I know how hard it is sometimes to see the true ideals of those higher up than you, but you follow them because your first line supervisor, your sergeant, team leader, is someone you don't want to betray. You want to be an asset, even if all you do mainly is goof off. When it's important you want to make it count, and you don't want to abandon them.

I think these posts will clear the air to many of them, and I can only hope it promotes stronger PvP in Eve. Not in the form of warfare necessarily, but of character. I could only hope that some of them learned of this for the better.

I wasn't involved, and hell... I sure did.

Gaurlock·

Excellant read!

I can't wait to get back in-game again, after my first read of one of your stories nexa I went back a dug up all the others on this forum that I could find :)

Well worth it too!

Rayan Laurentes·

A truly epic story :-).

Good luck and have fun .

Gabriel Lornadonis·

A pleasure to read your stories as ever lady Nexa, alas it took me 2 days to finish reading the whole of this story

i can understand how easy it can be to allow an allaince to die but really its also easy to keep it together without lying also ,all you need to do is ask in allaince if anyone wants to come out for some pewpew with a beer fleet and outfit a cheap frig or cruiser and go and find someone to munch on

do this enough and the allaince/corp will grow in strength and experience without ya having to do any real work
:-)

anyway i feel i must apologize to you nexa while you were seemingly afk in the macrointel channel the other day i took the oportunity to make some rather unseemly advances to your unmoving avatar

plz dont pwn me im a weak little blaster whore in a lolrax

Well.....I'm kinda glad you didn't put me on there and start having a rant about me ^^, i try to be civilised in game, but somtimes i can be carried away with myself.

Its a fun read tbh, i am a crimson member and can say that while some of the things here are true on face value you have to remember this is still a one sided view of the war.
I dont really want to start throwing stones at the hornets nest so i wont point out anything thats wrong or that is interpreted badly, i will just sit back and smile.

I actually read it all lol, i thought i'd be there and just read some and ignore the rest as petty jibberish and smack.

Hope to meet you on the battlefield...i really do, i want to test out some new ships of mine ^^

The Ratface·

freaky,

Yourself and your corp continue to make me smile. Nowhere else in the entire eve community have i come across people as down-to-earth and honourable as you guys appear to be (my corp is great too though!!) . I say "appear" because it is hardly my place to make judgements of players i have never had any interactions with personally. That said, if you are indeed true to your words and these excellent, eye-opening (and friday-relieving) stories are also true then i commend you, all of you, and hope to some day lead a small corp of similar ideals. Being a bare 1 month old pilot, it is very, very interesting to see, in depth, many of the schemes and less-than-honourable actions that players in the EVE community are capable of, and, apparently, quite regularly commit. On a side note, smack talkers are the absolute lowest form of gamer - in ANY game, nothing makes me smile more than watching them die. :) Keep up the good work!

Regards,

The Ratface

I dont even play EVE, just interested in the game and while browsing some sites bumped into this thread / very nicely documented and reads great - i wish Tiger many days in agony after reading this piece hahah. His like is just sad. Waste of space, as well in-game as out in the real world.

Callimminniss Prdsk·

I started reading this before my evening session at work, and while I did my tea went cold. I finished reading it after I got home, and while I did, my beer went warm. You are an evil person, Nexa, and shame on you ;) .

I'm not a huge fan of how you choose targets - sometimes you're downright harsh (a word said in anger by someone who's just been robbed is understandable).
And by your own admission you can be arbitrary - your war-dec against my previous corp Crimson Council, for example, was possibly the most unjustified and dishonourable thing anyone has ever done in Eve. Ever. We were lovely, even a child could have told you that!

But, more importantly, you certainly seem to find plenty that deserve it, and I have to applaud you exposing the humbuggery and bullshit of certain players. It damn near justifies everything you do.

I'd just like to make clear there is NO connection between the alliance in this story and the Crimson Council (and if we ever followed any of the steps in the Carebear Textbook it was only by accident, even though we WERE carebears, almost to a man jack of us :P )

There are enough deserving victims, I'm sure you don't need the random decs these days. Find the right targets, as you always seem to do, and make EVERYONE love you, you know we're waiting for the next story

CP
ex-CRCO, now UMCON

freaky·

Hehe I knew I recognized that name.

It looks like we dec'd your corp as one of our random decs.

I did notice you joined an alliance.

What I would love to do, but would be so time consuming is to get some hardcore stats on the people we have dec'd.

I'd love to see the percentages of people who join alliances right after the war ends and such.

I keep a lot of former WT in my address book and I notice that at least 60% of them join an alliance within weeks of our wars ending. Coincidence? Not too likely.

This story should be a good example that just because you join an alliance, doesn't mean you're safe(r).

Callimminniss Prdsk·

I can only speak for myself, of course, but in danger of stating the obvious I'd say that a corp war is a galvanizing event.

The RIGHT kind of war can actually be beneficial, and at the outset of TRAPS dec on my own corp I naively thought we had exactly that - apparently even numbers, the experience we lacked and needed at the outset would hopefully be gained in the course of the war, more losses that gains but eventually we'd come out the other side with a few morale-boosting kills and, win or lose, we'd hold our heads up high.

Unfortunately all our weaknesses as a corp were exposed and it was an unpleasant experience. Incidentally, a week or two into the war we fell victim to a very thorough corp theft. When a mostly-industrial corp loses it's cash and blueprints we don black for a year, it's worse than losing your husband. After 2 years in a corp that has been very close to my heart since joining I started to question the value of its existence. All credit to the new CEO, BettyB, who has a sight more heart and resolve than me, that it's not only alive but flourishing now.

Our failure in your war with us was one of 3 factors at the time, I think, that made me feel it was time to leave, but it was certainly a pretty immediate and in-your-face reason. Wars have certainly cut the dead wood from my corp in the past, which is only a good thing. They've also made people take a closer look at what they want to achieve in the game, and how to do that, which I guess isn't so bad either.

Revan Neferis·

mmmm. Interesting reading from entertainment perspective. But don't you think some of you are exagerating a bit on the smack level at personal players here?

perhaps this is the style of this area, as I'm not a poster or frequent reader I wouldn't know. I just find a bit disturbing and I wonder if this is really necessary.

Monma Cicov·

Very much a one sided story. Great propaganda though. Please note that the majority of the comments made by Tigerfish Torpedo have been quoted out of context. Funny how you don't see the the other side of the conversation. Also many comments here are taken and 'edited' from the alliance channel in-game via the use of a spy Nexa felt necessary to plant. And were never intended for public view. What is said behind closed doors is supposed to be private. This has been a complete character assassination on someone who is actually a genuine nice bloke. There are many people in Eve who have fought alongside Tiger, and against him and have the upmost respect for him.

Other points I would like to make at this juncture:

1) Yes, Crimson charge corporations to join the alliance. That is normal practice. Concord charge a monthly maintenance fee to alliances, dependent upon the number of corporations in that alliance. It is actually good practice to charge incoming corporations a joining fee, as this discourages corporations simply looking for a free ride or a war shield. However, in the case of EMP, they were NOT charged a joining fee.

2) Crimson is primarily a PvP alliance. We are only interested in PvP corporations. Even though we have had industrialists in the past, you will now note that there are none. This is not simply an exercise to reduce industrial losses during a time of war. They will not be re-joining. We decided to remove the industrialists due to conflicts in the direction the alliance was taking.

3) We are enjoying this war. In the past couple of weeks we have dramatically reduced our losses, and inflicted heavy losses on TRAPS. See killboards for evidence. We are actively hunting TRAPS every day. The best part is that this war is costing us nothing. But the public bragging and accusations about fair fights need to stop, from both sides. We are at war after-all, and when at war you do what it takes to win.

4) Crimson Alliance is a dictatorship. In my opinion democracies in MMORPGs are flawed, and it only takes a 49% - 51% split over a decision to cause serious unrest and a potential collapse within an alliance.
Tiger calls the shots. However, he does listen to members opinions and take them on board, even changing plans accordingly if he believes it to be the right thing to do for the alliance. All pilots in UPAY will back Tiger 100%. He's a good leader, an excellent tactician, and we have faith in his leadership. It's also a very fun place to be. Always something happening and normally it's Tiger lol.

5) We blob, you blob, everyone blobs. It happens in PvP corps. Everyone wants to be in on the action. It's a game where people play from around the world. You are mainly Americans, we are mainly Brits. Our peak times do not match, and that results in unbalanced encounters.

6) When you are hunting war targets the adrenaline flows. When you find a war target and they won't undock (when out numbered, I don't blame you, and nor should you blame us) it causes frustration and some people vent that frustration in Local. Don't preach about it. Ignore it.

I must ask though why Nexa feels she must justify her actions in every war and try to publicly ridicule and humiliate her enemies.

freaky·

Are you saying I am smacking them or vice versa? I know you are friends with Tiger in game so, I am guessing you're saying it about TRAPS or just my comments in the story or the comments people are making in response?

freaky·

Here's the deal. You can call it propaganda I guess. Yes, there is an entertainment value to the overall story.

My point of the story is we never made any claims about anything. We never commented on our opponents tactics. We never commented on their playstyle, on their wins, on their losses. Ever.

Many of your alliance did though. So yes you can say, "Those comments were private and not for public consumption." and no one is arguing that.

However Tiger went on record stating that TRAPS were bullies who only pick on weak targets. He said it on forums and he said it in local as well.

Just as you say we should opt to ignore it, I exercised my option to post here.

You can say it's out of context, but it's not. Anyone can read his posts I linked to, anyone can read the comments on the killboard, etc.

My point of the story was the fact that regardless of the war and the reasons surrounding it, claims we're made against me personally as well as my corp.

You can say it's one sided. Why not post your own story disproving anything I wrote?

I mean there are tons of points in the story that are irrefutable as far as what happened. The context is there, everything is there.

I will answer the things you brought up.

1) I am aware that lots of alliances charge fees to join. I am aware it keeps them from getting leeches and such.

My take on it wasn't so much that he charged people, it was that he charged people then failed to protect them. He failed to organize and make the game playable. He fined people for losing.

I think a lot of people would agree that's a bit lackluster considering corps are paying to be a part of your alliance.

Whether or not he did or didn't charge EMP, I don't know for sure. The former CEO of EMP said they were charged 25mil I believe. I can dig up the chat logs if you want.

2)I made no assumptions on what alliance type you guys were prior to war decing you.

3) We never ever accused you of not fighting fair. Not once. Never. Those accusations only came from your camp, not ours. You read the story I am guessing, you saw the comments over and over from people in your alliance saying "TRAPS only blob, TRAPS don't fight fair, TRAPS this, TRAPS that."

Do you have anything from your end showing TRAPS saying anything like that? I would be amazed if you did because we never begrudged any of your tactics, play style or anything.

4)I understand you value Tiger. He seems pretty cool when he is not lying, bragging and smack talking.

I understand he runs a dictatorship. That's fine. I don't think many of your corps in the alliance were aware of that.

He may ask opinions but if he asks them after the fact, then why bother? I mean he never asked the other corps if they minded EMP brining war to the alliance. According to several CEO's that were in the alliance, Tiger outright told them they had no problems following them into the alliance.

Sure maybe they're making it up, but I tend to take people at face value and see where it goes from there.

5)Again, we never once complained about your tactics. Ever. You see those chat logs of your alliance saying "TRAPS sucks cause they blob, they never fight 1vs1, they never fight unless they got number advantage, etc".

We never said that. If you corner us with a large gang, well, we're stuck. That's Eve for ya. We don't sit and smack talk the tactic in corp. It's more like "Hey whats up?", "Not much, I camped by 10 CRMS ppl", "Dang wish we had more people on to fight!".

We expect to be "blobbed" You guys have way more people than we do. It comes with the territory.

The fact that you have proof of tons of comments made about us doing it and that it's a lame tactic is ridiculous when you turn around and do it yourselves. It makes no sense.

You are correct that we have unbalanced play times resulting in lopsided encounters. We don't complain about it though.

Look at our KB, see any comments about it? Got any comments in local about it? We have plenty from your alliance. That's my point.

6)I completely understand what you're saying here.

Again my beef is that Tiger made comments that he prefers to keep things cool and mature, yet as you can see him and several other alliance people go nuts in local with smack, even when they win, not just when they lose.

What it comes down to is, walk the walk if you talk the talk.

You want respect, you have to earn it and you have to give it.

I don't have to justify my actions. Far from it. This story there were no actions on my part to justify.

I justified that fact that your alliance made the same claims that lots of corps make against us, but then come up short when it's time to show proof.

Sure you don't have to prove it to anyone, but I enjoy posting stories and I enjoy catching people doing things like Tiger does.

If you look at his posts, he constantly puts TRAPS down. He brags about himself.

So that's fine and dandy to you I guess.

So then I post details that he "left" out and I am a one sided propagandist story writer.

I mean he obviously doesn't post all his losses. He brags about his win/loss record. How the hell do you brag about something that you know is intentionally inaccurate?

I mean I see he's your friend, but just as I am showing my side of things, you're showing yours except you're not showing any proof and you're disregarding everything as one sided drivel.

Revan Neferis·

Generally. I've known tiger as I've known a few REPO guys here as well. I respect the players out of game with same regard.
As I told the parts involved today, It's not my position to comment on the actual facts of this war but REPO and TRAPS have been doing ops together inside my project and I would like to understand how far this war with Crimson goes, for my own assessment of the situation.

freaky·

Feel free to convo me in game or email nexanecis at g-mail and ask any questions you might have.

I am sure you will get an identical answer if you ask the REPO guys like Hans or Gab.

Monma Cicov·

I agree with some of what you are saying. I regret there has been some smack talk, but that should now be rectified. NO-ONE in Crimson should smack talk ever. They shouldn't even talk in local tbh. If you get any more instances of smacking from our pilots, then please send me the evidence. I will make sure action is taken.

When I mentioned that some of Tiger's comments have been taken out of context, i don't mean the ones with links, or those with screenies. I was referring to the quotes listed in bold type within your article.

Yes, Tiger has a huge ego. It's quite amusing at times, We often take the piss as a result. But he is also a Role Player at heart, so much of your experience with Tigerfish Torpedo, has been his character. But it's also fair to say that you too have a huge ego. The stories you write are all the evidence required to prove it. So in some ways this is like a clash of the titan egos! But I reckon if you both got to talk on a voice server, you would actually get along. Could either of you swallow enough pride to do that though?

Killboards.... I'm not a big fan tbh. All they are for are bragging rights with a huge security whole giving the enemy plenty of intel! It's an age old problem where people don't like posting their losses. The Crimson KB is of course for our use. If we posted our losses on there, then we would be showing you exactly how we fit our ships. I would prefer that all losses were posted. But I would also prefer the KB was password protected for viewing.

I don't have any screenshots or mails or spies that I can use to produce evidence against TRAPS. I don't really care. It's just nice to be able to pvp in High Sec. We're enjoying the war. I would however like to find a way to bury this hatchett, and try to increase the respect between our parties.

freaky·

As far as smack talk still going on, you should once again talk to Tigerfish.

One of your guys asked mine to 1vs1.

[ 2007.10.08 16:35:33 ] SilentHunter13 > u want a 1v1?

He then tricked my guy to engage by exploiting a loophole in the conversation(your guys own words).

Naturally my guy was not thrilled, but he didn't smack talk. Tiger tosses in

[ 2007.10.08 19:10:06 ] Tigerfish Torpedo > It strikes me that a little sore head on Traps part, causes allegations of unfair 1v1 honours etc :) The target was killed, it's war. Live with it :) Since when in WW2, did the Germans ask to meet the BRits in No Mans land for fair 1v1s?

Crimson can't sit and ask people for 1vs1 and then mock TRAPS for participating.

If you want respect, I suggest you read Silenthunter's post where he said him and the alliance tricked my guy into thinking there was a 1vs1.

That will be featured in an upcoming story as I feel it was an extremely shady/shitty tactic for a cheap and easy kill.

If you want the entire chat logs from the bold print, I will get them together and link them. I can assure you they were not taken out of context.

As I said, I would not post the chat in a manner where I am leaving out a crucial part of the text.

Just because I write stories does not mean I have a huge ego. Read them carefully. You will never see "HAHA WE WTFBBQPWNED THOSE BITCHES!", you won't see anything even close to that.

Just because I illustrate how other people don't keep their word, or smack talk or lie or cheat, it's not necessarily saying we are better than everyone else.

I can guarantee you had Tiger and your alliance not smack talked in local, had they not whined and insulted us on their public killboard, had they not boasted and bragged about their motives, kill record and other things, I would not really have a story that would be overly interesting.

Without my opponents doing crazy/odd/nonsensical things, my stories would be the usual, "We ganged/I soloed XYZ and got ABC loots" or "I tried/we tried to kill XYZ and got pwned" stories.

My next story will feature a corp we were hired to kill. They brought the fight to us for sure. Killed us quite a few times. Never an ounce of smack.

We even killed a Navy Mega of theirs resulting in a loss of at least 4-6bil worth of stuff. Again, no smack, all of em were great sports in every kill and every loss.

I have no smack, no lying, no shadiness I can post about them. Believe me, I would love to because it makes for a funnier story, but the fact is I can't say a bad word about them.

I understand Tiger does do a bit of RP, but honestly, none of the smack was RP in nature. It was just plain insulting. If you said his style was to RP someone who is an asshole, then yes he does a great job at it. If you're saying he is RP'ing in the context of Eve, I never read anything in the game about any of the races/factions calling people pussies.

I could care less about killboards. I mean honestly, what is so secretive about them? Wow, so and so flies a Raven. It's not impossible to get a good guess on what they fit. Does that make sense. I mean you see someone in a Domi, and you know they could be a NOS/Neut fit or maybe a Gankadomi.

Sure I guess killboards can help a bit with intel but if you're winning or losing based on killboard intel, you have issues then.

I also could care less about killboards. I never had one. My guys requested one. So I bought one for the corp.

I do make sure we keep them 100% accurate. Also I don't brag about my kill/loss ratio on forums like Tiger does, then not post all my losses. You read the story, you saw Entyce claim her, Tiger and Samisra enforce posting lossmails, when in fact they do not post all of their losses.

So to me and many others you(not you specifically but "you" meaning whoever does it) look like a retard going "I got 130 kills and no losses baby!" when you really have 130 kills and 20 losses. Does that make sense?

So yes, again, I am aware not everyone posts their losses. That's understandable. However when you have your own corp claiming "Yes I post all my losses and yes we enforce posting lossmails because we feel it's the right thing to do." and then the same people who are supposedly enforcing all losses be posted, don't post their own losses it makes no sense. It makes them look less than honest.

If you want respect you need to give it. Treat people the way you want to be treated.

TBH though the 1vs1 trick your alliance pulled the other day was pretty shitty. Sure my guy was a dumbass for not clarifying before he attacked but your own guy admitted that the alliance wanted him to trick my guy into a 1vs1 so they could gank him.

Your guy also said he knew damn well the wording would make my guy think a 1vs1 was taking place and he knew he was exploiting a verbal loophole and the trust of our guy.

I mean you know if TRAPS did that, you guys, especially Tiger would be throwing in it our faces at every opportunity and questioning our character. I have no doubt of it.

You were there. You participated in it. In my book you, share the blame.

One of the main issues I have with you guys is accountability. You say one thing and do another and you're never to blame.

I see people all the time calling people like Goonswarm assholes because of the shenanigans they do. However, they fully own up to everything and never make any excuses.

My point is you can't say "We are good people who enjoy a fun clean fight win or lose, and respect our opponents." then go and say, "Yeah I asked for a 1vs1, yeah I said I was short on gear, yes your guy even bought the gear for me so I could fight, yes I told him I wasn't ready to fight, yes I was actually ready and we decided to trick him into fighting so we could gank him, I didn't want to but I am a grunt and was just a pawn in the game so I went along with it and yes we totally ganked your shit, but honestly, next time I will really honor the 1vs1 because I always honor them and am not a dishonorable player."

You can't have it both ways. Either you're dirty players who stop at nothing for a kill or you're people like us who enjoy a good fight and make sure it takes place with no smack talk and no verbal trickery.

If you reimbursed Ceekt for that loss, I would consider us on an even keel so to speak. I know that won't happen though.

If you're trying to build up a rep as a upstanding PvP alliance, you're going about it the wrong way.

I know you guys mentioned reorganizing the alliance and heading in a new direction.

I am not sure what direction you're aiming for but so far the direction is going downhill after that mess the other day.

Monma Cicov·

You're right, I did participate in it. I know you probably won't believe this, but i was unaware of the trap until after the encounter. I was also unaware that your guy had given Silent some cap boosters prior to the gank. I apologise. It doesn't sit comfortably with me and now seems like a hollow victory.

I don't really think Tiger's comment can be considered smack. It was in response to the conversation between Silent and your guy in local.

I can see both sides of the event. Yes, it was underhand. But it is also War.

I don't have much authority within UPAY, but I will be posting my displeasure via alliance mail.

I do care about my personal reputation. I own and run a prominent Eve Online website and I don't want the community to consider me an asshole. As such I will now withdraw from further engagements with TRAPS. Until such time when Crimson cleans up it's act.

I have a suggestion. How about we arrange a fleet battle? We agree a time and system. No restriction on ship types, numbers etc. But we have an honest up front scrap and enjoy it! In the meantime we call a ceasefire both in eve, and in this war of words. The loser of the battle has the right to either call it quits or request a rematch. But gentlemanly conduct should be adhered too at all times.

freaky·

A fleet battle would be good but honestly my guys wouldn't trust your guys at this point.

Also there would be many timing issues as we can see you guys seem to play the opposite times as we play.

I can't do a cease fire though. The war will continue indefinitely. It might stop for a while, but rest assured it will start up again and again.

Again, I am fully aware that it's war and anything goes.

However if you're claiming honor and claiming sportsmanship all the time like lots of Crimson have, especially Silenthunter, then pull a stunt like that and then say stop complaining it's war, it's a bit weak.

If any of my guys pulled that stunt, they would be looking for a new corp and reinsuring their pod about 5 minutes after I log in.

So far you're one of the few people I like in that alliance. You seem to understand the way our action can work for and against us and our corp/alliance.

Good luck out there.

Monma Cicov·

Nexa,
I'm not trying to claim anything. I just wish there was more honour and sportsmanship.

I can understand you not calling a ceasefire. I would however like to state that I will no longer participate until I get guarantees from my side that they will conduct themselves in a better manner. Can I in the meantime ask for safe passage for myself to return with my ship to my home system?

freaky·

Sorry, I can't do that, after all, this is war. :)

You shouldn't have a problem getting around though. Our playtimes are so sporadic, hence the reason you never get to see a TRAPS gang with more than 4-5 people at the most, so you shouldn't have an issue.

thundachronic·

Wow, I think reading that was the EVE-Pirate equivalent of "Ben-Hur" or "The 10 Commandments" ... epic !

For most of the story it seemed like you had a bit of a chip on your shoulder, and were trying to prove a point that your corp are fair & honourable pilots, despite what others have said about you. ie: trying to clear your name from some sort of slander.

It made it pretty hard going in places TBH, but still a good read. I haven't heard the other side of the story (at least any facts, or a defense worth a shit), but I'd say your evidence is solid enough for me to believe that Crimson are lead by an egomaniacal asswipe (happy to hear evidence on the contrary - if it's worthy I may even believe it). Especially as the story unfolded and more juicy details were added.

If I was in that alliance, and read that was how much my presence was valued, I'd pod the fucker myself even if I was a carebear.

Luckily I'm not in that alliance... though the podding offer still stands if I have the chance to meet him (if I don't get blobbed...).

Beautifully constructed story & Good Luck with the War !!

Forgot to ask - are you a lawyer ?

If not, why not :)

Xasz·

Epic as usual. Keep it up. You are by far my favorite eve-pirate author, and your stories keep me fully interested in the complex game of EVE, being that I can't play much at the present.

Just want to say, hats off to you, and keep it up!

Shadowflayer·

Wow, i see you and TRAPS are still having tons of fun, and i almost feel like playing again and maybe i'll reactivate my account again some time ^^;

Story is as usual awesome Nexa, keep it up and crush the evildoers! =)

Wow great read Nexa you prob dont remember me but a few years back i was trying to get into TRAPS but that was back in Red Moon Rising my comp died actually the day after I talked to you and the one im on cant handle it so whatever im just eve deprived for awhile cant wait to get back on tho. I have just joined Eve after being gone for so long from it. I would like to say thank you. This will help newb's like myself from choosing the correct corps. and what to learn from about this game.

I am a n00b now. But in time I want to get in contact with TRAPS.

Take care,

Awesome story... always enjoy reading your work. Maybe one day, afer I'm over 1 year old, I'll have the chance to fly along side you and take part in these hilarious exploits. :-)

Chris Crew·

great read enjoyed it stayign to build a pirate as my main at the moment cant wait to start the fun

El6·

Long read but lots of detail. Honestly you beat the horse into the ground about what hypocrites they are and how fair you all are.

Less of that and more funny chat logs from local and spies. More stories of actual encounters if you trimmed some of the "see how dishonorable they are compared to us" fat it would have made for a better piece. As it was I didn't even read the forum threads linked because I wanted to get through it.

Honestly though, I haven't read your other stuff yet but I can't even begin to imagine how you pay for all those decs as pvp'ers.

P.S. Somebody who RP's under the name Tiger Torpedo should be RP'ing an asshole. What a bad name, sounds like an 80's anime character.

Reikso Feesh·

I'm going to make it the object of my weekend to somehow use the word 'craptor' in a sentence, with what I presume will be correct context.

Thankyou for expanding my vocabulary, Nexa! ;-)

And thankyou for providing an interesting read - it's been quite an eye-opener for a new member of EVE...!

I missed this one Nexa, awesome write-up as usual.I seriously consider applying to TRAPS every time I read a story of yours =\

Great read. This war blog is practically a one-stop intel for some alliances (mostly who you probably should avoid dealing with). ;P
