I've only been playing EVE for about a week, and my first char was a miner/industrialist type. However in most games (Read 'all') that I play online I am a PKer or as you would say in EVE, a pirate. So for the past 3 days or so i've continued to only skill up my warrior/killer char while mining when afk with my miner in his hauler (So I can produce my own stuff at need, etc). So today I was doing that, just home from work and getting tired. I logged onto my warrior, doing Navigation to 4 for some reason, and wandered around mining country. I noticed a Stabber and an Osprey both jetcan mining in a roid field o a .9 sec zone. Now I figured either one would kill me, but I had enough isk saved already, coupled with my insurance money, that if I died it wouldn't really hurt me that much and I NEEDED some PvP. I'd run about ten missions with this guy to get some money and shoot some things, but of course it wasn't like a 'real' fight. So I chose the Osprey because the stabber seemed to have the better stats on paper. Now i'm flying a Merlin, with no repers of any kind. I also didn't take a warp destab because I figured there was no way I could even win. I had 2 Malk Launchers and an Ion Blaster of some sort (Can't remember the name off the top of my head and I'm pretty tired). Malk's just with light flamebursts and the Ion with antimatter charges. So I steal the Osprey's ore and put it in my can. They don't do anything but lock on me and so I take some of the ore and throw it in a station. As i'm doing that the pilot mails me and says that it was a cowardly act and she's putting a bounty on me asap. Which I thought would be cool, but as of yet I don't see any info on my character screen about this. So I warp back to the bookmark on the can and fly around her ship and then blow up the can. She leaves.

A baby pirate is spawned...sort of..
So, already inured to the idea of my death I head over to the stabber, which is gone and now has a hauler of some sort grabbing his ore. I grab at it but only manage to get one pile of the ore before he puts it in his cargo hold. He leaves and I don't see him again.
At this time I see the Osprey comeback again and think 'oh no..two of them at once, run!'. So I warp off because at heart I hate to lose. Still not having any PvP in EVE however I turn right around and warp back to the first bookmark of her can. Sure enough this brings me in close and I lock onto her and one of her hobgoblins that she brought back (three of them). I hit her with my missles and use my ion blaster to shoot at the drones and it dosn't seem to be working that well. Still, she flies off after about 45 seconds of combat. I have no idea what just happened so I continue to kill the drone she left behind.
Sighing with sadness and longing I check a couple places to see if I can find her before going back to the same old bookmark. Sure enough she's back with ANOTHER osprey (Luckily her Corp aggro has already timed out (Feld something?)) and I see a bunch of Warrior 1's and Hob Gob's. Again I immediately turn tail and run before deciding to go back (Yes this is a pattern, but i've not slept for a long time at this time). Again I lock onto her except this time I totally ignore the drones which seems to go counter to a lot of the advice on these pages. But it seems to work and the extra damage i'm doing to her brings her to about 0 shields when I still have over half and not dropping too fast. I have her web'd but of course I don't have a destab with me and she warps off.
I'm amazed that I had any kind of victory and sort of go hog wild shooting a couple of her drones to bits while her corp mate sits there with me locked (I was SO hoping he would fire). Then I look around for her and find her in a shuttle going toward a gate, I rush toward her, web and start firing. Just about when I was hitting structure however she reached the gate and got out. (Not that it would have mattered, but still would have been my first kill). I think about crying but instead go back to see if I can get the old corp mate to do something stupid. He's gone. I see the drones and realize I can pick them up, so I do. My profit, 3 warrior I's and a Hobgoblin. Well...damn.

Welcome - this is a good start.
One main lesson you should get from this: Always put a scram on when PvPing (destab as you call it). It's a bit harder to do with caldari ships cause it takes a mid-slot, but not totally impossible. Gratz and I hope you get to nail somethin soon.
The Dark Side is sure tempting. Who cares about that pesky security status? Get an alt to take care of your empire needs! Good yarrage and many kills!
Im liking the word destab. Im gonna start shouting in local at targets "IM DESTABING YOU".
Good story though, nice to see somone who isnt afraid to get stuck in and die. I recommend you get some fitting advice though (you probs would have killed that osprey with a decent setup)
